I'm helping out with a new convention here in the Great White North (that's Montana). I want to do something for the AMV party I'm hosting, something unique to Montana. Since the con has a cowboy theme, I need some anime that have cowboy themes or characters who are cowboys.

I know of Cowboy Bebop and Grenadier, but I can't think of any others. Any ideas?

I seem to recall that Van from Gun X Sword looks something like a cowboy.

One of my all-time favorites, Captain Harlock, was converted to a short cowboy anime. According to this article it's on Hulu: http://en.wikipedia....ki/Gun_Frontier

Another anime that might have a cowboy somewhere is Trigun. Not completely sure though, it has been a while since I last saw it.

Well, theme-wise..perhaps you could derive some cowboy-ish themes from Trigun.

EDIT PS: lol Kahad

Also, what about El Cazador de la Bruja?

If you are stretching for material, I guess you may find something with Outlaw Star...or perhaps Gungrave.

If you really feel like pushing it, Digimon Adventure 02 has an "old west" episode with Starmon and Revolvermon (who even talks with a bad John Wayne impression in English). Isaac from Baccano dresses like a cowboy... That's all I can think of off hand.

The Harlock saga has a spin-off called Gun Frontier that's set in the Old West.

Sadly won't be attending ACen 2012. So I'll be taking my cosplay up a notch for 2013.

Thanks for all the suggestions, people.

Unfortunately, we had to drop the Old West theme due to lack of footage (couldn't get our hands on a lot of that), but I think my group's Plan B--redoing the Top Gun opening--may end up being even better. I'll see if I can link to YouTube when the AMV's finished.
