In other news two of toyota's cars failed crash tests. Which doesn't surprise me at all since they have been making cars lighter and lighter for decades without being able to replace the protection lost by said weight. Crash looked pretty brutal though.

I swear if it wasn't for the internet and our current media, people like Kim K. and Honey Boo Boo would never become as famous as they have.

I saw a signet of the show during a news show and it looked like a miserable train wreck.

I make it a point to avoid any reality show whose primary focus is not cooking. (Why yes, I do enjoy Food Network. And Gordon Ramsay. It's just a shame we don't have cable, or I'd be watching more than just what's on Hulu.) To that end, I make it a point to avoid anything that concerns Kim K. Heck, all the publicizing of the royal wedding was more tasteful and tolerable than what Kim and her family put us through for her own.

There's been some al-J on cable in parts of the US for awhile now, and they have a YouTube channel. I agree with you, though there is something to seeing how other nations see us. It's the same reason why Pravda was lots of fun during the Cold War.

If war happens with Iran, however, expect al-Jazeera--based in Dubai--will be suddenly changing to being very pro-American. The people who own al-J are Arabs, and they decidedly do not like Persians. They also know that if Ahmadinejad gets away with nuking Israel, they're next (or possibly first, as the UAE can't retailiate like Israel can).

Not really. Anyone that understand economics should be scratching their head at his so called "plans".

On other horriable things about America, how much you wanna bet people will sue over the crappy events that happened with these cruise line. Even though Carnival is paying back everyone for their trip, giving them a free ticket to another cruise, and giving them cash on top of they. Yet someone (or more then one) will be demanding millions on some BS case. *sigh* I hate people.

So, so sad....her boyfriend just died, she was just put into rehab, her kids were taken away, now this. She even shot her dog...

I suppose if there's a silver lining, it's that her boys had already been taken into state custody beforehand. That might have saved their lives.

I want to say that crap like this happens every damn day and you can't always prevent it. Despite your best efforts, and the efforts of the afflicted, it will most likely end up horribly. This woman lost her boyfriend and had to try and raise two children after the fact. Granted there's more often than not an underlying problem, but society always says "There's nothing really wrong with you." The stigma of mental health issues permeates everyday life unnoticed and then you have people who off themselves because... well I don't know the screw why. If I did, I wouldn't be having such issues myself.

It's those days where you feel like you're starting to feel better and then the chain of events just so happens to throw you in the dirt. First it starts off with you moving away from your family. Then you find out the person you liked has been seeing someone and didn't even have the courtesy to tell you to your face or at any moment when you reconnect with them. Then you start a new job that wasn't exactly the glamor and glitz you expected it to be. Then you start calling helplines and going to see doctors. Then you take medicines every morning before you head off to work to drop your pants and take it as hard as you can for eight hours a day. And then you crash your car. And then your manager rage quits in the middle of the busy season and you have to start picking up the slack. And it all snowballs into whether or not you feel the need to risk your job and career by throwing yourself into a hospital away from the very society you hate, thousands of miles away from your family and friends, just because you're too bored of life but not enough to want to kill yourself.

So then you have to deal with rentals, picking up the slack at work, and going home to an empty apartment, wondering why you don't have the ability to make friends easily.
