I thought much of it was born about from the whole Palestinian "you took our land, that is our rightful homeland" issue. I guess I need to read up a bit.

The Israelis have been there just as long...something mentioned in the Koran itself.

The Palestinians throw away every chance they've been given for peace. They raise their children to die as martyrs. Rather than trying to live in peace with Israel--the only other place in the Middle East that they're allowed to vote--they want to kill everyone because some imam or mufti tells them to. (Note that aforementioned imams or muftis are not in the frontlines when the guns start shooting.)

It's a sad situation, even sadder because it's not remotely necessary.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are heading to the BCS national championship game.
Movies has a record holiday weekend.
The over-hyped Cyber Monday is today.
Japan unveils a 310mph magnetic train.

And what I find really surprising, there is little talk about the Mayan calendar and the doomsday talk.

I think it's a good thing that there's protests against Morsi. It means that the Egyptian people haven't totally lost their minds and are willing to exchange a military dictatorship for a theocratic one. Especially a guy who thinks Hamas is awesome and who is supported by people who want to blow up the Sphinx for "not being Islamic." Hopefully Morsi gets the message.

As a Notre Dame fan, I'm kinda glad they're undefeated. My other favorite college ball team is Montana, and...well...they suck.

Main reason I went mostly pescatarian. I still eat fish once or twice a week, but it's not nearly as expensive as buying meat every day or so. Ugh.
If more people would do meatless Monday (or even better, meatless work day), we wouldn't have this problem and maybe more people would have less health problems. Maybe maybe.

I rarely buy fresh meat...my freezer is well-stocked with packaged tilapia and chicken from Sam's Club. I'll get fresh meat to cook up for special occasions, but it's too pricey for me to get it more often than that.

There are many days I don't eat meat. Poultry is usually my meat d'jour, sometimes it is peanut butter. But what "meat" is only at $4 a pound? Surely it isn't potted meat.

It's not just that though. The drought this year hurt alot of famers because what do all livestock eat? So it was getting too expensive to feed all of their livestock so they butcherd alot of them which was great during the fall since there was a excess of meat. But now, they have to keep whatever they have left untill for much longer then pervious years. So, yeah it's gonna suck for us meat eaters. lol

If people exercised more, eating meat wouldn't be bad. Meat is best source for making muscle. Personally, I rather eat meat everyday, so I can gain more muscle working out. If you eat white meat, there are little ill effects. Carby stuff, and sugars are more of the enemy.

Eh, it's just the way the economy goes. Drought --> fewer meat animals --> higher meat prices. Enjoy pork now, because there's going to be a shortage next year.

It doesn't bother me too much. I was involuntarily vegetarian for most of my college years just because of economics - bulk lentils were cheaper than meat by a lot, and because they kept longer I didn't have to take the 90-minute bus ride to the grocery store very often. It's perfectly possible to eat a well-balaned, tasty meatless diet.

It is possible to go vegetarian, or even vegan (one of my friends is vegan). It's just whether or not one really wants to, and making sure to get all the necessary nutrients to boot. I probably could, seeing as there are plenty of fruits that I enjoy. My problem, however, is vegetables. I'm incredibly picky with them, especially where beans and salads are concerned. Plus, you'd have a hard time getting me to give up dairy items. I loves me my eggs and milk and cheese and yogurt and ice cream.

I'm a meat eater. Dammit, God and evolution made me a predator, and that tasty steak isn't going to eat itself! I've got nothing against vegetarians (as long as they aren't wild-eyed PETA types) or pescatarians (which sounds better than "fish-eater").

One reason why food prices have gone up is the price of fuel, too. Something's got to run those trucks and trains.

Yeah, that's why prices have been high over this whole recession. But there was just a sudden spike in prices that didn't go with the non higher spike in fuel.....remember the days when gas was .99c?...I miss those days.

I wish they would stop corn/fuel scenario they have going. And I do remember those days of cheap gas. Back in the 90's, at the very least it was around 1.29 at some points.

And do people really care all that much about Middleton being preggers? Sure, congrats to them but really, I don't put these people on a pedestal any higher than most everyone else. Princess this and Prince that, so what? Just empty titles of a bygone area..or so I opine. People are so heavily obsessed with celebrity it is almost sickening to behold.

Actually, I do. It's not a matter of them being celebrities, either; it's that they are among the best role models the world has to offer. I'll also admit, there is a personal touch too - my parents named me after Princess Di. No, I didn't worship her every move, but there is something to be said about being named for a woman who took no crap from the paparazzi, and loved her children so warmly and openly...not to mention raising them into outstanding young men. I also admire Kate, since she has always carried herself with such class and poise. William and Kate are fine people, which is why they're admired and followed.

No, they don't have to...however, in order to be the best, there has to be a quality. Something to set you apart. You don't have to be epic or mind blowing, but honestly, what did the couple do to deem them great role models? (with the parent example, that's kind of a "of course" moment, that's their job. Lol) Ive not been following those guys, but honestly, they seem average, and kinda just blend in.

One of the best role models to me? Michelle Obama. Hands down. She is the classiest, smart, and caring people in media.

But agreed, I'm also sick of this news about kate being pregnant. It won't affect us for decades. Hell, with as long as the queen has been on the throne their baby might not even be 50 by the time she/he has any real power. So I doesn't matter.
