Where to buy rare anime figures

Every year that I go to ACen, I can never seem to find various rare anime figures and plushies that interest me. Could anyone suggest a legit and safe site/place where I can find some, preferably at reasonable prices?

I HIGHLY recommend http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/ Mandarake. It's a Second-hand store based in Japan for Anime-Related Goods. :) Besides Yahoo Japan Auctions, Rakuten, Amazon.jp, and Jungle, it's the only really good place to find older releases. :)

For preorders/newer releases, I recommend AmiAmi, HobbySearch, HobbyLinkJapan, Otacute, Tokyo Hunter, and Big in Japan. :)

Might I suggest Mandarake? They've got a lot of second hand stuff and some harder to find stuff too. Also AmiAmi if you're looking for newer things.

Try Play asia; they have a ton of stuff there. Also if you have a proxy try Japanese sites.

I tried browsing through those sites for various items in my want list but I couldn't find any. =/ I have specific lists of wanted figures on MyAnimeShelf and MyFigureCollection that I've been looking for. I'd say they're pretty rare. Only one of them I think I saw at ACen but I was hoping for a cheaper price. Are there other cons that might sell such figures? I've also been searching for a super rare Rouge the Bat plush that's nowhere to be found on the internet.

I'd keep an eye on Mandarake. They get "new" (to them) stock often. As for cons, ACen will be one of your best bets although Kollison Con is coming up so you may try there.

Manda searches come out better if you search in Japanese :)

AmiAmi also has used sales. Note, if you want to find something older and rare, you can expect it to be hard to find. You'll have to check the resale sites A LOT. Chances are you won't just open Mandarake for the first time and see it sitting right there. And don't expect it to be cheap, either. They'll pretty much always be more than they were when they just came out.
