Dolphins won over Seattle. Eh, we're probably not going to the playoffs, but considering most analysts had the Fins pegged for 3-13, I'm not complaining.

I admit I had no idea the Bears would be ahead of the Packers, though...much less the Falcons and Texans being so unstoppable.

While the NCAA can impose bowl bans, I doubt it has the power to tell the press not to ranks teams.

For the curious, this happens in college basketball as well. The 1990 - 1991 Kentucky Wildcats spent most of the season ranked despite a post-season ban.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Reid is gone and, rightfully so, so is Vick. When Vick came back, people had forgotten him and his ability so yeah, he came back in a flash and was successful. Then after that first year, the D coordinators started to build schemes to contain him and now you have what he became in Atlanta.

As I was talking to a buddy of mine last night, I said that Reid may wind up in New Orleans..IF Payton does goes to Dallas.

Untill we find out more information about everything that happened I don't feel so bad about it. Espically since he murderd his GF. They don't want to turn away thousands of dollars and mess up the entire NFL schedule for one man. There is such a thing as the show must go on. Also, since I'm not so into football that I actually know players, who's to say this guy wasn't a complete D-bag anyway? Idk, too many variables to start feeling sad right away and point the finger at the big bad company. (like the general masses dont' do that enough as it is)

Yeah, that's where I admittedly feel conflicted. On the one hand, he murdered his girlfriend - in front of her mother, no less - and very true, it would mess up the schedule. But on the other hand, I know what it feels like to lose someone to suicide. I know what kind of effect it can have on those around them. It's a feeling no one should ever have to go through, nor is it an act anyone should ever have to witness.

But, at least they are doing something right and making sure counselors are available. Small blessings, I guess. At any rate, I wish the best of luck to the Chiefs tomorrow.

Didn't the Chiefs themselves make the decision to play the game? I know the NFL makes the final decision, but it seemed like (from the articles that I read) that the Chiefs want to play tomorrow, for the good of the team and Kansas City. Maybe I read it wrong.

Just a sad situation all around. I can understand what can drive a man to suicide (I've been that depressed myself), but not to murder.

The Chiefs did announce it, yes.

That's where the investigation's going...he had a baby daughter living with his girlfriend. I feel horrible for her and her grandmother. Hopefully they'll get answers to this sooner, rather than later.

I'd actually prefer that they not make it far into the postseason, if at all. On the one hand, it'd be nice for them to make it to the playoffs, if not the Super Bowl. But given how topsy-turvy their season has been, I'd rather not get hopes up and then dashed. It's a shame with Urlacher being out, but this is definitely a lesson they needed to learn - they cannot keep depending on their defense. They need to have a reliable offense. Cutler, though it's not for lack of trying on his part, isn't all that reliable.

Although, to be fair, he's better than Grossman was.
