So I got an email saying that panel applications will begin today, but if I click on the link on the website for panel request, it says "we're not taking any panel applications at this time, check the forums for more info." Is the updated page not up yet, or did we seriously fill up already?

That's really rather annoying as a whole. I understand them going away but then at least open it like late at night before you leave, or have someone else do it.

Well that's no good. It seemed like they really had their stuff together, at least from a communication standpoint. I doubt we'll see or hear anything until Tuesday after the holiday. Some poor soul probably forgot to upload something, or who knows maybe the person responsible for coding the submission system is sick. We can only speculate.

I hate to point this out, but "We are looking to open applications on September 1st" doesn't mean it will open on September 1st. "We are looking to open applications on September 1st" means that we were planning on opening it on September 1st. Delays happen despite our best efforts. Don't worry, it should open soon and Panel Programming will keep you in the loop.

My assistants and myself are currently testing the new application! We should be good to go public with it by the 7th as planned. It's super awesome and going to make scheduling panels much easier for us We're looking forward to reviewing your applications!
Remember a panel outline is mandatory! So have a file ready to upload it in. It's just an outline of what you will cover, any ideas you have, how you will fill your time, etc. It does not have to be word for word your entire panel. We've seen outlines go from 1 paragraph to 16 pages. Make sure you are sticking to your outline in the end for your panel, panels that go "off topic" and don't actually match their description aren't allowed to return the following year. If plans do change with your panel you can email us and update your panel information. We just need to make sure our attendees know what they're getting when they go to see your panel
