No piece of mind for the wicked they say! I barely managed to get a King size room since the double beds were sold out as usual.

Also the rates for anyone who is interested is 172 USD for king/single rooms. I have no idea about the others because they couldn't tell me over the phone ._.

EDIT: I wanted a double so I could give my room mate a piece of mind by having a bed but this won't be the case next year unless someone trades rooms or doesn't want a double bed anymore.

Is there any way for non forum members to get a notice or something about these room blocks? I don't have issues with scrambling, because I'm used to it, but I know not everyone lurks on this forum like me and Agatha-san.

I'm subscribed to their twitter feed, they announced that Embassy blocks were going to be opening on the 8th like maybe sometime last week. I called yesterday to find out what time and they told me 10am this morning.

Well I mean outside of twitter or any social sites. There are some people out there like me who only have emails and not FB/Tumblr/Twitter or a smart phone. I personally had no idea that it would had been in October (for reservations,) except for constantly lurking on the forums XD

Usually they wait until the Hyatt is overfilled or finished before they open a new room block/announced so I was a bit surprised.

Sign up for the email newsletter! That's actually how I found out about it, 'cause there wasn't a notice posted on the forum. ^^

Yup this too if you're an email oriented type person. I actually have them added to all sources just so I can get an embassy double room, how sad is that? They always go insanely fast.

That's not sad at all. Like I said the double beds go out fast but:

1) I was really tired

2) I didn't notice until 2 pm on the forum

3) The 10/4 newsletter was buried among spam ._.

So it's mostly my fault. I still got a room regardless though and there is a pull out bed (some advantages of staying at the Embassy over the other hotels.)

I have to admit seeing hotel rates at 200 is also a shock as well! (But what do you expect?)

Got my room, yea did not really think doubles would go that quick but this is my first time at the Embassy so I guess I did not plan it, usually do not have a hard time getting one at the Hyatt but line and learn got my rooms and I am happy, just to have a microwave, fridge and the free breakfast I think makes up for it, and next time I know.

I got my double beds, I called at 10 right on the dot. The secret is to call the 1800EMBASSY number, not the local number as they are going to be swamped with calls. The reservations number sees the same thing as the people at the hotel. This is also my first year staying at the Embassy and I tried last year but they were booked after like 3 hours for the double beds but this year right on the dot I called.

Yeah the first year I stayed I didn't do it when the blocks opened right away, so my fault. The 2nd year I did it the day it opened just on my lunch break, no doubles anymore O_O! So this year I called as soon as they opened them and finally got one. Either way its totally worth it, sucks that your email got buried But at least you still got a room

From what the person on the phone told me there are now 10 rooms left. I asked them about the whole room rates (172-202) and the 202 is suppose to be the double beds I believe, but they could be wrong.

I paid $222 a night for the double beds room with 4 people and they said I won't be charged until I arrive. Hyatt I believe they charge your card in April!!

Unsure if I'll even be attending this year(entirely dependent on the AA) but I snagged my double suite for my group.

I love the Embassy Suites, but the prices make me tear up a little lol

Thanks for the information. Since the agent said they were all booked it was hard to really tell me exactly how much the price was. I was looking on the official site and guessing =w=

Hyatt is where all the action is but if you are the type like me and want to chill out with takoyaki this hotel or doubletree is the best bet.

I usually booked with crowne plaza(was $133 a night last year), but I heard about the free breakfast

I was to busy to call yesterday, so i just did and I was told it was "the last room"

You can go through the skywalk or walk through the front door to get to the Halls we are in. Registration is in Hall D and The Exhibition Hall is in Hall F. We will be back in Hall A after this year.

You do know that the Embassy has a fold out couch bed in their rooms, as well as the king or double twin beds.

Well, yes, if you add in the tax plus parking plus internet(if you use it) will definitely take you over $200 at the Embassy. It has been for several years.
