I'm thought they said the first night was coming out right away and that if you cancelled before April 22nd you would be refunded it(after you would not). But then again it was late and I wasn't paying attention.

Well if it means anything my card hasn't been charged. And if I remember last year they charged like a month before. So I think it will be on April 22nd but don't take what I say as the gospel truth.

We were just told there is a non-refundable deposit too. Is this new for this year, or is it because the bookings are so much earlier?

Um I would call back and make sure to get the right rates straight away. Did you say ACen or Midwest Animation Promotion? You're supposed to say the latter, so if you said ACen maybe they had no idea what you were talking about?

^what this person said. Still kind of annoyed at this entire thing at the second. I haven't had our Treasurer look at his account yet to see if the funds have been tapped for the rooms, but if they're taking out deposits now instead of in April, its another nail in the Hyatt coffin as far as hotels go.

My mistake I feel like an idiot I ended up reserving a room with the wrong hyatt. I have never done this before :wacko:

Luckily I cancelled and have now made a reservation with the correct hotel. Looks like double rooms are sold out already!

I just now looked at the Hyatt booking page (the Passkey page specifically for ACen - use links found on ACen website) and it says, for example, that twin rooms are still available for Friday, Sat, and Sunday nights at the ACen rate. Thursday is listed as "sold out." (Currently Monday 3 Sept 1:15pm local time)

Single Kings are listed as available Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sunday nights - "sold out" Monday night.

(Note: this reply is based on my being a regular person not as an ACen staffer.... so don't take anything as officially from ACen.)

Just booked!

We thought we'd try the Embassy this year.

I have to say, planning this stuff ahead instead of scrambling for a room at the last minute really does wonders for one's peace of mind! The only drawback is that now I'm really impatient for ACen to get here.
