I had gone to a murder mystery panel last year and I absolutly loved it. I haven't seen her post that she is willing to run it again and I am going to go ahead and put it out there that I would be happy to run this!

I would be asking for 5 to 6 volunteers for suspects and we would all trying to find out who killed someone! I would randomly choose the viticum and the killer from the group of volunteers. The prizes would be random manga and anime movies that I have gotten over the years and have copies of.

Just so it is clear the victim is random person A.

You are more than welcome to submit an application for a murder mystery panel. Normally we don't allow "copies" of panels IF it is a unique panel, but murder mysteries are a fairly common activity panel so we don't consider it as copying. My only suggestion is to make sure you test how you will run it with a group of friends, or even try visiting an anime club to test it so it will run smoothly at the convention and you will be able to work out any kinks pre con.

Once we open there will be a how to forum topic, with tips and directions. There will be a link under the Register part of the website that will bring you to the online application. It will ask for a basic outline which is just how you plan to present the panel, how it will be run, and how you plan to fill the time you request. It does not need to be every single step, but an outline to give us an idea of the panel. I've seen an outline range from 1 paragraph to 16 pages. It will ask what supplies you will be providing if any, prizes, etc should be included. What tech you will need, like a projector, sound system (mixer and speakers), mics. We do not supply cables or computers.

The panel description should be 50 words or less and be made to draw in your audience, this is what goes on the website, book, and phone app so it's important to catch people's attention with it. We do not allow words in all CAPS or random ^.^'s etc. Proper grammar is a must, and saves us time when we're editing descriptions. Your panel's name can't be too long, this year we put a 50 character limit on it, some may still be shortened. If for example you use "The Sailor Moon Fan Panel about Luna" We will probably shorten it to Just "Sailor Moon", describing a panel as a panel in the panel name is a bit redundant, and "about luna" belongs in the description, not the title.

Also it will specify times, this section is new and extremely important. It's going to ask what day you are arriving, and what times of day you are available. This plugs directly into our scheduling program and will not allow us to schedule you for times you do not select. There is also room size, keep in mind the size of last years murder mystery was in a 100 person room, you could probably squeeze in 125-140 if you're friendly :) If you feel you need larger you may need to run twice.

Badge compensation. We are keeping last years policy of 1 panel = 50% off the current badge tier price for up to 3 badges. So 2 panels = 100% off (free) full weekend badges for up to 3 people. If you run your panel twice it does count as two separate panels. We allow panels that are known to fill and turn away people to run twice because we recognize our attendance is so large (24k) that it is needed in some cases to allow more attendees to enjoy the event. We did a test run last year with a handful of panels and it worked out great :)

You're welcome to ask any questions you may have. I hope I answered some here :)

Yeah I know Murder Mystery had to turn people away. I want to run it twice personally and I do have three of us to run it which should make it easier. I will get the outline and prizes ready to go for both run times. You have answered alot of them for me already! I might need help with my outline. Once I type it up would you be willing to look over it? And how soon would the panel submission be open...cuz I don't want to wait till last minute too get my badges.

I'd love to volunteer for this. It'd be great if the character a person's cosplaying as could be incorporated - say, if the person were to stay in-character as best as possible?

The lady who ran it last year used our cosplays included. Sadly though I won't be able to do the panel if someone else would like to submit the panel you can. ^^
