I am seriously considering attending for the first time.I am currently adding my self to the forums to learn more. Can any one tell me great things besides guest that would further cement my attendance to this con? Anime Reactor has kind of dampened my spirits on trying other cons.
Currently writing a book.

Really it was the sense of community that I got that makes me want to go back. Everyone was just really chill and relaxed and having a good time. I had a lot of fun with my friends last year and I made a few new one at Anime Midwest. I can't wait to go back with them this year and meeting even more new people. I feel the difference is the size. While ACen, you can meet tons of new people. It's just crazy how busy it is. Anime Midwest doesn't have that feeling. It's pretty small and you don't feel overwhelmed by it
uchu kitaaaaaa!!!!

Cosplays for ACen 2014 and progress made:

Gintoki Sakata (Patriot Factory President ver): 20% (need more money)
Genderbent Caitlyn from League of Legends: 90% (only need to get my hat and gun)

I heard that Reactor was a really "party heavy" con, which is kinda the opposite of what Anime Midwest focuses on (more anime content, events, and guests). Those on staff try to be really friendly and helpful, and most of the main staff-run events are organized by the Dantes, whom are both entertaining and really friendly and engaging. Still relatively small compared to ACen, so if it's the fast-paced world you need, then we're not there yet. XD

Thanks! I'd like a smaller one. As for Reactor, I went the first couple of years & it was nice, but I was referring to it's down fall. Once it moved I couldn't go & the final one came back with such horrible stories, like too close to a furry con & a picture of a dead rat for a mascot floating around the Internet. Not to mention rumor's of why it ended. I realize it's new & needs to build up fame. I'm just looking for some good reasons to go. I know thing about, but a group of Dantes does peek my interest. Great, now I'm remembering being saved by one at ACen. Wait that was actually a good memory. Any way, I need to find a way to get info on events or typical panels I guess. I'm assuming they have traditional masquerade & photo shoots?

Yes, of course, a masquerade cosplay contest on the mainstage and lots of photoshoots. :)

Having the voices of Glados and MGS Raiden is quite awesome. The panels/events each day look solid too. Perhaps I go...

It was announced today that tickets *might* sell out prior to the convention, so you may need to pre-register! There are a few thousand left still, but it looks very likely they will sell out in advance!

The website currently shows about 1,800 tickets left, and there were 4,000 left just two weeks ago. Nice.
