While attending the Mitsuwa Bon festival it dawned on me that maybe getting some local (Chicago area) Japanese culture talent may be an idea as well.
The Taiko drum group for example. I would suspect there are also shamisen (eg Toyoaki Shamisen), koto, etc groups too. The Taiko drummers would probably need something like the main ballroom, but the others may do fine in smaller venues.

^ Third this suggestion. Not only would be be interesting to see but it could showcase local talent as well.

ViViD = they recently within the past few months did a song for the Gundam series called 'REAL'. On a side note they are completely worth seeing live when given the chance. :3 So I think they would be good to add to the list.
Hm... other then that maybe the group SCREW? They are still currently under PSC's indie label but about to go major in October and have been together 6 years now. >w< I've seen them only once before myself but it was worth every penny.
