I think for 2013, there needs to be a change in how the Soap Bubble is run. First off, PR man. Your Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/acensoapbubble ) is nothing but trash. Whoever runs it should follow Hardcore Synergy's model and not use the fanpage as a personal Facebook. Whoever runs it is asking for roomates, people to go to concerts with them, to vote for their tattooed friend, and nothing but trash UNRELATED to Anime Central, or even the Soap Bubble. It's kind of pathetic. Also, there's been no promotion or hype or even fan input about the Soap Bubble. It seems like the producers/DJs/acts are booked based on whoever the promoter is friends with at the time.

No offense but isn't ACen an anime convention? I was really disappointed when 2012 didn't bring back DJ Amaya, who is known for making remixes of J-Pop and anime covers. Also, DJ VinVu wasn't there either, and he played an awesome J-pop set at MatsuriCon. Although, I was very glad to see some of the resident DJs in 2012, DJ Maru, Khek, and especially DJ Jeffito. That was a big surprise at the end. HeavyGrinder was ok this year too.

I am understanding if you can't afford to bring in big acts, although for as big as Anime Central is, it should be able to book more international DJs, possibly even Vocaloid producers. Just sayin. But if you can't (more like since you don't), at least book DJs who frequent anime convention dances. Out of most of the anime conventions I've been to in the Midwest, there are a few names that are pretty standard when it comes to these things: Bad Corey, DJ Jeffito, DJ Kagamine, Rawkz0rs. I mean seriously, most of the cons I went to in 2012 had at least Bad Corey and Jeffito: Anime World Chicago, Anime Midwest, Colossalcon, Matsuricon, Youmacon, Kollisioncon, Anime Central, A and G Ohio, Natsucon. And if that's too much work for your staff to handle (booking lots of individual DJs at one time), then give the job to people who make it their goal to run awesome anime convention dances such as a group like Allkore, who run some amazing dances and book some pretty famous artists.

I'm not affiliated with any of the people/conventions/groups listed here. I'm more of a friend of friend of a friend kind of person, but of the people I've listed, and the limited contact I've personally had with them, they want nothing more than to run a great, fun, and SAFE dance to help promote the anime convention and not for personal gain. Unlike what the Soap Bubble seems to be, based on their Facebook page.

I had fun at ACen 2012 because of my friends and good company. Honestly, there was a lot of stuff with the con that could have been improved or handled better. This will be my 13th year and honestly, it may be my last. I pretty much only go because of the Soap Bubble, and if it's continually run the way it has been, this WILL be my last year.

Haven't logged on in a while.

Thank you to the ACen staff for the opportunity to perform and DJ the Soap Bubble for the past 3 years (2010, 2011, and 2012) and thank you for all the support from all the fans.

To Deadmau5fan, to my understanding, we don't get paid to DJ. We do it because we absolutely love to DJ and, me, I absolutely love this convention. I do appreciate the support. Hopefully, the Soap Bubble still remains the largest and best anime convention dance in the country.

I sincerely hope 2013 keeps the tradition going and I hope there's no drastic changes to the Soap Bubble. It truly is hard to maintain such a large event and it takes people who are willing to dedicate their time and effort to do so. If Anime Central were to bring in new people to run the Soap Bubble, I'm unsure if it would keep the same vibe as previous years. It would take someone/some group of people who are familiar with Anime Central, have experience of running these types of events, willing to listen to higher-ups and make changes where necessary, and most importantly, someone from the Chicago-land area who understands current EDM trends. After all, this is a Chicago convention. Chicago needs to be the one who runs it, not anyone from out of state.

Whatever the future holds and con politics aside, this year will be my 14th year attending and I hope it's even better than last year. It sure has changed a lot since '99, some good things, some not-so good things. But this is still my favorite convention and I would love to contribute in any way I can. After all, I met the love of my life at this convention. Thank you Anime Central, MAPS, staff, and YOU the guests. See you in May!
