I was super excited about cosplaying Aigis, with her huge gattling guns, for next year...until I saw the pricetag on the morphsuit I was planning on using.
Look, my username is literal; I've put together three cosplays for less than what this base material would cost me (and it would need to be altered, anyway)!

So does anyone know a cheap alternative to a bodysuit? This is the character I'm going for; as you can see, I'd almost need a one-piece bathing suit, but with sleeves and a neck.

How durable is a leotard, like the kind gymnasts wear? Anyone worn one before and,... if so, how did you keep your modesty intact? That's the only fear I have about them.

I would even be willing to use separate pieces and cover the separations with robot-esque accessories...

You can try using spandex or lycra but remember that wearing such things is ummm tight on your body so you don't have a lot of modesty ._.

I remember one year doing Rock Lee and having the issue of people staring at my butt.

Those are the cheap alternatives and you can easily find them in white. The problem would be her ummm robotic legs; I have no idea how you can pull that off. Someone did a really good job on Aigis but I can't find her username or the source of her cosplay picture.

Yup, I may need to consider other options...
I'm looking at dance supplies, because no one complains about ballerinas' panty lines...they have concealing tights and stuff that seem like they'd work out well. I actually have a good price ballpark for the whole costume, but hey, I'm still open to suggestions!

I've cosplayed Lee, too- but I wore a tight turtleneck, leggings, and a fanny pack. XD

Depending on what "modesty" you are concerned about maybe a sports bra up top and, <cough> "adult" diapers below... or something with enough padding to round out the "bumps." (some sort of heavy material undies, like insulated winterwear..). I would also think that a dance supply place (where you might find bodysuits) would have things to "pad" areas, much like the male ballet dancers no doubt have.

While I appreciate the first idea, I used to take care of a 90 y.o woman, and honestly, I never want to see an adult diaper again as long as I live, haha.
I know I can find winter wear... And I might be able to rig my big spreader gun prop I cover my "needs"... Thanks for the help, guys!

I can actually vouch for zentai suits for I have done 2 cosplays using them. first one was greenman from It's always sunny in Philadelphia, my second was my Gantz suit and will be doing Raiden soon using one as well. They are very comfortable, though they do show...um parts...I just wore a cup though. They are tight, but easy to move in though
