Actually, Xeno--in my experience, some liberals want to just yell "IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!" and act like that settles the matter.

Which proves us both right. There are idiots on both ideological sides who just yell about how it's someone's fault and then don't provide a solution. Yeah, there are things that are Bush's fault. There's things that are Obama's fault. 200 years ago, they were screaming about how the War of 1812 was Madison's fault. It's human nature to blame somebody for something that wasn't one person's fault.

On the subject of taxes, I'm okay with paying them...I just wish they were spent better. I'm okay with it being spent to buy a F-22. I'm okay with it being spent to pay Obama's salary. I'm not okay with it being spent so he and other politicos can go play golf, or waste millions on a study about hog lard use in Arkansas.

In my experience I see more people blaming Obama for everything, including World wars and Tsunamis, than Bush. I think they blame Bush due to his term and how they seem to ignore that Obama came after his term. So to counter it they say "ITS BUSH'S FAULT."

EDIT: Count how many times Obama's name comes up in Yahoo news comments, even if the subject isn't related to politics or him at all.

People rather blame "something," than nothing in order to make themselves feel good and ignore the big picture. Let it be Bush, Obama, Republicans, Democrats, Middle East, Hispanics, Blacks, Native Americans, Minorities, Caucasian people, etc. etc. etc. I feel it's the people's fault why we have problems. We the people vote these people in office because of being republican or democrat or what may have you, instead of what they are and then get mad when we are over taxed or lose money.

I mean seriously...one of the candidates who was running for president wanted to "ban porn online or porn in general,"

To be honest unless you are the country president or treasury, we people can't do anything directly with taxes or how the money is spend, except for our own, and even then it's impossible because you have to pay something for the rest of your life that you don't want. Even the rich people do so, but it's a different state of living.

True. Both sides love scapegoating. Just blame the opposite's party member. Kinda another reason i avoid politics. Stuf like that is so petty. (tho if it was Andrew Jackson who people would scapegoat, then i wouldn't complain. Lol now he was bad lol)

I think you meant the car one. Where someone buys one for a higher price, and gets taxed more, and one who buys for lower gets taxed less.

See I was gonna ask what exactly was he meaning with that, since that IS a flat tax. They get taxed the same amount, but one just costs more. I left alone because I wasn't sure if it was sarcasm, or that was his point. More or less I was confused a bit at the wording

That depends entirely on what comment board you are looking at. Also, most people on boards such as Yahoo are there for the sake of being moronic and confrontational. It is easy to pick on Obama now because there is plenty to argue about that relates to him and his policies and there are hordes of people who will defend him till they're red in the face...but I am diverging from the topic a bit here.

Taxes before you're born, while you're alive, and after you're dead. Taxes should be simple to understand, paid by most who are able, and spent wisely.

In Andy Jackson's defense, the guy was carrying around a couple of pounds of lead in his body and treating it with opium. That would make anyone a bit ornery.

He did stave off the Civil War for 30 years, but there's not too many excuses for the Trail of Tears.
