OH!! Toku-con for my group. My group is going and we have like all these toku and henshin cosplays planned out

Always - I live almost exactly halfway between Chicago and Detroit along I-94, so ACen and Youma are the two easiest cons for me to go to. Not sure what I'll be bringing, except my brand new just-debuted-at-ACen Lunatic costume may have a Halloween costume. XD

And I just reserved my room Monday... Thursday and Sunday nights were both available at that time. (I don't need either, since it's a two hour drive.) Maybe Thursday filled up fast because they usually have some things going on Thursday nights, but they allotted less rooms in the room block?

That is beyond me, too.
You would think since it's growing in size that they would at least consider a room block for that thursday.

I'm planning on making my way to Youmacon this year! I missed last year, but in order to make up for it I'm going to be getting my badge in June and making plans to save up money specifically for the con in November. I was wondering if anyone from Chicago would be driving up there?

Amazing. My first con, and I believe it's a lot better than Acen.
Panels aren't all over the place, nor are the photoshoots. It's all in the con center. Our dealer room seems a lot bigger than ACEN. They don't sell all of the same things as the booth next to them does.
Hotels are definitely a lot cheaper, and nicer, too.

Everyone I know, or talked to, enjoyed everything here.

I "want" to go, but I'm honestly not sure. I'm planning on moving, applying for better jobs and/or at least planning to get a 2nd job, and just have to see if I have the time and/or budget. I'd honestly love to check out the hype (honestly have heard nothing but positive about Youma, so yay! LOL.) Anyway, if I can get the time off, I'll try to go for a day (and do a crazy commute from the Illinois suburbs over) and currently not planning on a hotel but we'll see. If I do go and enjoy it enough, maybe I'll start going all-days?

This year it actually will be spread out, since they're expanding into Cobo, which is a bit of a walk from the RenCen. From what I've heard, sounds like just Dealer's and Artist's Alley will be over there though - and that means they'll be a lot bigger.

And hopefully that means the RenCen itself will be a little less insane as far as the crowded halls. I love pretty much everything about Youma except that it's growing so fast that no venue so far has been able to keep up with it, and it's been through 3 venues in the last 5 or 6 years (not counting the expansion into Cobo, which would have made it 4).
