Just wanted to thank IRT for being fantastic this year. Yes, there were a few rude and obviously stressed IRT staff I delt with, but majority of my interactions were polite and professional.

Elevators:
OMG, elevators were fantastic this year! There were a select few IRT staff who manned elevators that just seriously made the experience great and kept the elevators in working order! Please keep this system going... forever. I know it's got to be a terrible position. I would hate to be in a cramped smelly elevator for hours on end. There's a few elevator staffers I would love to recognize once I remember what their callsigns were. I think I know who a certain person was, but I'm double checking.

Fire Alarm:
I was in the Hyatt when the Fire alarm happened. Obviously in a situation like that there will be a sense of urgency with staff and attendees alike. The whole situation actually felt like it was under control. I was really blown away how well the situation was handled and a huge thanks to IRT for that.

General Interactions:
I had a few IRT members ask me to not stand in front of doors, asked me to not be a certain area, stay on the sidewalk etc. I only once experienced someone being slightly rude to me. Everyone was super courteous and professional.

I hope this was similar to everyone's experience and it was far different from my experiences with IRT in the past. Great job guys!

To the one IRT guy that helped me into the AA with all my stuff and personally walked me over to the artist check in and held doors for me and was all around just an awesome guy -- THANK YOU. You made Thursday set up so much less of a nightmare than it usually is. I dunno if you remember me but I hope you know who you are!

I'd also like to say thanks! Everytime I had a question I found the nearest IRT and they politely answered or pointed me in the direction of someone with more information then them. They were very professional and made Acen that much better! Thanks for all of your hard work :)

Just about every time I stepped into the elevators, I thanked the IRT member there for keeping the elevator situation under control. Even on Sunday when checking out, and they made sure no one went up in order to go down, I thanked them despite I admittedly really just wanted to jump on any elevator. There were a couple times when I wished IRT had a stronger presence to keep a walkway clear, such as by the escalators on the second lobby and on the stairway in the dome area, but overall, I pretty much saw members everywhere. (Being a vet and being concerned with others' safety, I asked the people sitting on the stairs to move. I really almost tripped over them while walking around them and they didn't seem to care.)

Oh yeah, and as a vet, I really want to return to the team next year. I really miss my IRT family, even though I saw a lot of new faces. So expect to see IRT callsign Pyro back in Acen 2013!

I agree, IRT was great this year! Even when people were not following direction well or things got a little crazy, all the IRT people I ran into were polite and courteous (even if they had to be loud to be heard.)

It was my first ACen, and I had a great experience with the IRT people. Unfortunately, the reason I met a few of them was because I had an "incident"..... But, I just wanted to thank them all so much (which I tried to do) for helping me out. Also, I got so many birthday hugs from IRT on Sunday because they were letting the other members know that it was my birthday. THANKS!

I hope I can go next year!!!!

IRT you guys worked above and beyond the call of duty. And I never realized you guys did rounds every night to make sure things were in order and people were safe. While cosplayers are snug in their beds...or random chairs, you guys are on the ball :). Thanks again for making acen a fun and safe experience for everyone (at least those who followed the rules and acted like they had some sense). Things could have gone completely differently with that fire alarm. And though it's a shame what happened with the masquerade ;_; (i really wanted to see the skits), no one got trampled or hurt. Thanks for keeping it calm and orderly. Moving that many people that quickly can NOT be easy. And yes, kudos on the elevator idea. I only got stuck once and that was b/c some guys were pushing the button and the IRT guy couldn't see them past someone else's cosplay outfit to stop them.

High fives to all of IRT! The few I had to deal with were wonderful. I've been hearing that IRT were letting people know to visit my department for passes, and I thank you for that! I've also been hearing that IRT was a lot more aware of my department's policies for our Special Needs customers, and I'm really happy!!

Also, hugs and kisses to the IRT that I worked with during the evacuation! I was the short gal in a black bomber jacket & Jayne hat not too far from the main programming doors. I didn't get to see call signs in the chaos, but y'all were great!

THANK YOU ALL! :)

I just wanted to say thank you to the lovely IRT man who saved me during Soap Bubble.

I don't know who you are, but you pulled me out of a group of guys who were getting waaaay too gropey and I was far too drunk to do much about it. I think you were blonde, or perhaps a ginger. And I'm about 98% certain that your name began with a "K". Presumably you also have some sort of damsel in distress radar; I have no idea how you would have found me otherwise.

Anyways, just so you know, I did get back to my room alright. And then regaled my friends with the story.

You are a gentleman and a scholar, sir. You have a standing offer for me to buy you a drink/coffee next year. Or sooner, if you live in Chicago. Thanks for the rescue.

Hazzah! I'm glad to know you made it back! I did help some lovely lady escape from some guys, and if it was you, you are welcome! But if it wasn't for you(potentially) grabbing my hands and in clear need of help, I never would have known...

but the important thing is that you were safe and sound and I'm very glad I happened to be in the area (and the kiss on the cheek was a plus too...hahaha)

I'd like to add my thanks to IRT. Everything has already pretty much been said, but in my opinion it can't be said enough. You guys all get your own individual gold stars for how well you handled the elevators (while saying this to someone at the con, they suggested I run around next year with actual gold stars and hand them out, and I'm really tempted to do that...). You all did a phenomenal job.

Saturday night also earned major respect and kudos and gold stars and candy all around. And not just because you handled a situation that could have gone abysmally, really really well. I'll admit, I got a little scared when people started chanting "this is Bull Sh**" outside the hotel (there were little kids in that crowd people o_o). But not only did you guys manage to maintain control in the chaos, you did so in a calm and responsible way. You told us to be quiet as nicely as you could, given the circumstances (I think I may have heard a few shut ups, but I'm not sure if they were from the normal attendees or from IRT, but if they were from IRT they were justified), you told us WHY we needed to be quiet (so you could hear your radios and know what was going on so you could tell US what was going on). I really appreciated that, and was over all super impressed with the whole situation.

My only real suggestion would be, if you guys can, maybe invest in a few megaphones for line control so we can hear you guys when you have something that important (or something along the lines of "this event is starting late because...") to say.

I think the guy with the callsign "Omega" (whoever was watching the Masq line outside was one of the better IRT members I've seen. He was constantly trying to cheer people up and being really friendly and goofy with people. Defintely need more IRT like that.)

I really like this idea. There should be an "Elevator Operative" fanclub. Seriously the unsung heros of this con.
