Will panelists be given access to their feedback at some point?

Also, tried finding you at con, but thanks for your help getting the miscommunications sorted out with my panels the week before the con.

We will be going over the feedback and any constructive criticism will be relayed to the Panelist. We are still trying to evaluate how to get proper feedback and getting a lot of it. Currently even with the forms posted and sent to the list we are very limited on what feedback has been given so far.

Would you also like feedback regarding cancelled panels? My group and several others waited for the panelists of the "It's Raining Wolves" panel to show up, which they never did, causing the panel to be cancelled. Major bummer.

We do keep a list of cancelled panels and we always cross reference it with Panelist applying next year. When going through the approval process we do look at prior years and if their were any cancellations from the group etc.

Why not print these in paper form and give them to / leave them at the panelist table to be handed out to the attendees, or put one on every chair in a panel room? The odds of people remembering to fill it out are better, and you'd have their thoughts from RIGHT when everything was either happening, or JUST after things wrapped up. Instant information may be better than information that sat in their brains for two weeks, and it reaches a lot more people than those who actively lurk these forums (meaning basically everyone but a few hundred/maybe thousand of us).

It would take some time and printing resources, but if life has taught me anything it's that the easier and more spoon-fed something is, the more likely people are to actually do it.

Alternately, give the panelists the templates, and ask them to print up enough for their rough estimate of attendance. No printing cost on the con, and indirectly gives each panel some form of audience interaction (whether by passing around, or by giving the crowd something to consider while they watch). Either idea could work though, really. Just a thought.

We used to print tons of them and put them at the front and back tables of every room, we had our staff hand them out before, we've done the chair thing before etc. The problem is lots of trash gets generated, people leave them sitting, throw them away, never turn them in etc. We do not mind printing them at all, its just in past years even with the paper, the feedback quality was overall not very constructive to the Panel and the amount of feedback we got was not nearly worth the amount of paper etc we printed.

There was a QR code on each panel room sign that lead to our feedback form. And the amount of forms that can't be read from last year because of bad handwriting was disappointing to see. We've also posted the link for feedback on our social media

A thought, As weird as this is going to sound, what about using email? When someone registers for a badge online they have to give an email address correct? So why not send a email to people right on sunday after four with a link to the panel feedback. I know I got one, but I'm not sure if that was for being a panelist or not.

Has the feedback info been sent to the panels?

We did send out the constructive feedback. Keep in mind feedback that was not placable couldn't be sent, for example no name of panel and listing a time when no panel actually was running, we have no way of finding who it belongs to. Also "they sucked" and that's it have not been sent out. If you send me the name of your panel I can double check our feedback forms and see if there is feedback on it for you.

Just pointing out in the 5 years I've been running a panel at ACen I have never received feedback of any kind. Ever.

We are always trying to find a proper solution to get feedback to panelist. The largest issue has always been quality feedback, even when we post forms online, have paper forms at convention etc. We will continue to discuss different options for getting feedback to our Panelist and may look at utilizing The Guidebook capabilities to do so.

Out of the 240ish panels we had last year only about 30 had feedback. It could help to announce to your panel to please take the time to give feedback after the panel.
