First ACEN, looking to meet new friends! =)

Hi everyone! I just realized this forum was here so I thought i should introduce myself. I'm a transplant from Maryland, so not new to conventions (Otakon 2 times now)
but I'm brand new to the Chicago area and this is my first ACEN! I'm kind of nervous but also super excited!

I like drawing, games (mostly RPG - FF, Kingdom hearts, Tales series, Star Ocean, etc), and reading comics (various shoujo titles), vocaloid, and of course watching
anime. ^_^ Most recently I watched Tiger and Bunny. I also like cosplay, but unfortunately didn't have time to put anything together for this year. I lived
in Japan for awhile. I guess that's all.. Anyway, like I said I'm a total newbie to ACEN and I hope to meet a lot of new friends! ^_^

Tales of Vesperia is my favorite. I'm excited that Cassandra Lee is gonna be there (Sophie from Graces) I'm gonna have her sign my copy of the game

Yay! OMG, I'm so excited for CAssandra Lee too. ^_^ I'm taking my game to get signed too, lol. Not sure what I'll be wearing, but if

Welcome to the forums. You met all the locals already and I'm the lurking garbage girl Fujoshi.

Also I suggest try the deep dish pizza and Mitsuwa if you go to ACen.
ACen 2013 Cosplay:
Hero from SMT: DS2, Emmet/Kudari from Pokemon Black and White, Roppi Izaya from Durarara, Hitoshura human form from SMT.

All the random avatars this time are from LJ and I don't own any of them. Some of the avatars are credit to aristocracy, Taku ♫ arthursandwich, noxjustxnoin, imperial-code, dojicons, narrante, dino-cookie, shiroyuki_kun, takerzmuse, and ushitora_icons at LJ. I DON'T OWN ANY OF THE ICONS.

Welcome to the forums ^.^ and to Chicago as well!

You'll have plenty of time to try to put together a cosplay for next years ACen. My first year I didn't cosplay and I felt so out of place! Not to say everyone has to be in cosplay, but I absolutely love being in costume so I wanted to do it the next year and I absolutely loved it. Ten years later and I'm still doing it at ACen.

Like Fujoshi mentioned, I also suggest to try some Chicago Deep Dish pizza and Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights is a lovely place to stop by and stock up on Japanese candies and foods. They are having their Bon Odori Festival soon so that might be a good place to meet some people :3

If it's anything you'll be doing, it's meeting new friends. I think a good chunk of my friends now are because I took pictures of them throughout my ACen career (07 to present) and they tag themselves XD. It's awesome to be adding more to the numbers!

Aww.. thanks! I'm a super shy person (^^;), but I met some nice people my first time, though unforunately no one that lives closeby in downtown Chicago. But I love meeting new people. I'm going to go next year too (unless school gets in the way), and will cosplay too! Hope I see you there. =)

Hi! It's nice to meet you~! I love Mitsuwa Plaza ^_^ I live in Chicago, so I go there a lot. My favorite is Shio Ramen. Have you tried it? It's so delicious!

Hi! Thanks so much. I had fun last year, and am looking forward to going again next year and meeting new people! ^_^ Japan is super fun. My best friend is still there in Tokyo, so I go back a lot (well, depending on how busy I am
with school and stuff...). I love speaking japanese, it's the only other language I'm fluent in other than english, lol. Well, you can ask me language questions if you want to =) if you live in Chicago and want to be friends, we can meet
up and hang out and speak japanese ^_^

Thanks! I'm super shy, so it takes a ton of effort on my part (^^;). I met some really nice people last year, and am hoping to meet more this year~!
