So this is my second year that I shall be attending ACEN. I didn't confirm if i was able to go this year until recently. With that said, I had absolutely no time to figure out a cosplay. I currently have two that I used for my last ACEN visit and last year Halloween. However I didn't really want to recycle a costume. Do people ever combine costumes into one? Even if it is two completely unrelated things?

What I am thinking about doing is getting my Big Boss from MGS cosplay i had my last ACEN, and combining with my Sith costume. Star Wars and MGS....a very very random mix. Could I get away with this or try to figure something else out?

Hmm, you could, if your clever enough. make a smuggler out of it. Or a sith battlemaster with the eyepatch and the army vests and straps *not sure which bigboss your talking about) Pm me if you wanta get into detail

I think you should go for it. I always get a kick out of those ppl who put a creative spin to character by taking a well-known costume and fuse it with another theme. Combining costume has been done by many at cons. For example, since zombie is quite popular these days with the Walking Dead, zombie version of characters are neat to see. I once went as a Jedi dressed in part like a Wild West marshal with a cowboy hat, cowboy belt buckle, sheriff's badge, and all since George Lucas once said that he likened Jedi to be like the peacekeeper of the Wild West.

Im going to bring both costumes regardless. I am now considering just doing Sith. I am currently working on making a Respiratory mask like this one from Malgus http://images.wikia....usHS-Render.jpg however more original and my own design. I might do the combo still, but idk. Maybe I will switch off.

Likewise. been working on it for better part of a week. it'll beok. won't look as good as that but still, pretty good. tricky part is finding a medium to keep it on your face. I used a resperator, a well fitting ninja half mask. Velcro's the inside and then sewed on the connecting velcro to the mask (gotta be able to remove it for battery pack) using some LED's for a nice reflecting red "wash" to cover my face. and am in the process of connecting the hose to the sides with a full length (found the more you cut the hose up the more it justbends and looks cheesy. Inside will rest my 9volt for the Leds (might have to wrap it in black foam to keep it from getting to wet from my breath condensing in side and sorting it...or melting something..ON MY FACE. Last part is a voice amp i found that will act as a voice boom mike,. rather than those cheesy voice box's with the distortion. all in all, my sith is still in my proto form. first year with him, he'll mold and change as i figure how just what he is. oh and nice crushed veleur cape.. Gotta look like a fancy sith. Only gutter trash sith use robes *wink wink* gotta love sith ego.

I have been on TOR a lot lately trying to get some ideas too. I was going to make a mask based on Revan and Sith Acolyte, but I want to show off my awesome sith contacts, which is why im going with the respirator. hopefully I will be able to get enough done in 6 days, well crap I only have four days...

yahhhh. Umm. go to a hardware store and look at their half face resperators. that'll give you a good start. Or ebay for half face masks. Lots of ideas there.
