First of all I'd like to say pardon me if this question has been answered in a previous topic. I am yet to come across it so please send me a link to it please!

Ok, this is my first year cosplaying (in the 5 years I've been going) and I was wondering-- as the title suggests -- whether it is acceptable to wear the same cosplay for multiple days. While this may seem like a ridiculous question to some, I just don't want to be scoffed at for something that I didn't know about.

Is it same rule that applies for wearing the same outfit to work/school for multiple days? Just don't do it?

Thanks for the help guys!

hmmm depends on the costume, temperature where youll be( outside in the sun, indoors with ac) mostly will you be sweating?

personally i think if the costume can air out really well and you dont sweat into it at least a whole lot then i think it would be fine. just keep it clean and someplace where itll air out when you dotn wear it. mine is a japanese uniform that can get a little hot and sweat my back with my bag on. however i wear a decent t-shirt underneath so it doesnt effect the uniform. after i wear it i let it hang get a breeze through it or iron and steam through it a bit.

if its a skin tight body suit and you raelly sweat into that thing then it might be another story XD LOL

It's ok :) Usually I try to have a different cosplay each day, just for the fun of showing off different costumes! But this year I'm probably going to be wearing the same cosplay both Saturday and Sunday, though I do have a different one for Friday. And no one will make fun of you or anything. It's your con, how you want to dress for it is your choice ^^

Sunday: Levy [Fairy Tail] (all day)
Possibly Houndoom [Pokemon] part of Sunday.

That's perfectly fine! Loads of people do it.
You just have to make sure that you shower everyday and wear deodorant and all that.
And clean it in-between conventions.

Basically, just take the necessary precautions to prevent it from smelling. ^^;

There's some good suggestions in there. There is nothing wrong with wearing the same cosplay more than once. Just shower, hang up the outfit and febreze it, wear good deodorant/antiperspirant.. Um.. Also one of those tide instant stain remover pens are also nice to carry around.

Nah, it's perfectly fine. Just don't like...poop your pants or anything.I don't know what all the smell comments are about. It's a costume worn for part of a day where you (probably) aren't doing anything too physically strenuous. How smelly are you people, exactly? ;)
Plenty of people only take one costume and wear it every day. A lot of times one costume is all someone has time/money for and it seems a waste to wear it only one day of the three day event you made it for.
As long as you're bathing and being hygienic. Basically the same rule for wearing pants or a cardigan several days in a row.

It's totally fine as long as you're not stinky! If it's a heavier costume, consider wearing a layer underneath (such as a T-shirt) so that if you sweat you won't be getting the costume sweaty. Hang it up to air out at night in your hotel room. As long as it's not something ridiculously heavy/unbreathable (like a vinyl bodysuit or something...) you should be fine.

A note on Febreeze, though: If you're going to use it, use it LIGHTLY, or you risk choking everyone around you with a cloud of hideous chemical flower-smell...and if your costume's really rank, just put on some normal clothes! Few things are worse than stinky costume smell + overpowering febreeze smell mixed together. Yuck!

Hygiene isn't an issue with me so I'm glad to hear that it's acceptable.

And the only reason this is an issue is that I can't afford to make more than one cosplay, and I worked really hard on this one. (So needless to say, I'm really proud of it.)

Anyway! Thanks for the responses!!! :D

I do this with some of my newer cosplays especially if it's more comfortable. Like I'm known to wear my Team Aqua Grunt cosplay at least twice during the weekend cause it's basically a cami and baggy scrub pants and I can walk around in that for hours. I do spot clean after I'm done wearing it and allow it to dry overnight before I wear it again and then deep clean when I get home.

I've always only done 1 cosplay a year (cause I'm a lazy sob when it comes to making the damn things). I wish I could do more, but it's never in the cards for me.
The first year I cosplayed, 2009, my friends and I did a steampunk group, full duck canvas and tweed materials for costumes all made by hand -- and it was in the mid 80s if I remember correctly. Just plan accordingly, with lots of fabreeze, ironing, a box full of needle and thread and buttons in case of a malfunction or rip, and maybe some good perfume/cologne!
