That's one of the main problems with trying to figure out the forecast with the con still a week away. There's still way too much room to change. x.x

I checked today and it says 50s. :c
But still no real chance of rain!
That's the main thing I'm worried about.
Rain would not be pleasant for the long wig I'm wearing. OTL

I just checked today. 30% chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday but 50s pretty much all weekend.... as long as that chance of rain doesn't go above 60% it won't rain

I'd be more worried about my hat then my wig if it rains...a blotchy rain-spotted hat = not pretty. and it takes forever for the spots to go away, too....

So far it looks like 50 for the weekend with possible showers on Sat and Sun. The weather always changes. The best thing for everyone to do is to be prepared. Bring jackets and umbrellas. It could be showering for an hour and pass. Chicago weather. :rolleyes: :shuriken:

I think this is the first ACEN I wont be sweating my arse off. It's usually been 70s and 80s. Last year was definitely killer too X___X

This is looking like a bad year for cosplay-gazing.

And the walkways? Unbearable. Maybe it's just me thinking this but they always put the heat on in there despite the fact it was hot out. I'm actually glad it'll be cold. I love the cold over the heat.

OH GOD! YES! The BO in the walkways because of the heat was terrible. We stuck to going outside as much as possible but I did show my group of friends the walkways (because it was their 1st year at ACEN where as last year was my fifth XD. They looked to me for guidance haha). But seriously. I was in my Rip Van Winkle cosplay (all long sleeves and about 3 layers), + long wig, and we had to move stuff in our cars 2 stories up in Double Tree Parking to 6 floors up in the Hyatt. Took about 3-4 trips I think. D: I was stripping clothing by the end of it haha.

:< Is it too much to ask for upper 50s, lower 60s? I mean...I hate the cold XD

Rosemont/Des Plaine's weather is always unpredictable - that's why when a friend asked me what cosplay she should add to her lineup, I suggested a favorite that happens to be good for mildish weather. As it is, I think everyone should make sure they're well stocked on deodorant, and be sure to shower every day. That way BO is a lesser threat should rain begin herding everyone indoors.

My costume current costume is four layers of clothing. Even if it were winter that's still too hot for me to walk around in. I'll figure out how to make it lighter for myself so I don't break a sweat just standing there.

well regardless of anything seems like all days of the con are in the low to mid 50s and the lows for each day stay at about 38-42. and small chance of rain Saturday. regardless of accuracy, it'll be chilly since even forecast aren't off by 10degrees usually. weds is still the best bet for most accuracy.

Latest forecasted temps up for the con weekend are Thursday 54/39 & partly sunny, Friday 45/37 & overcast, Saturday 43/36 & rain, and Sunday 48/36 & sunny. With a north wind off the Lake by the looks of it aaaaaall weekend.

Out like a lion one month late indeed. Well played, April, well played.

Though the people waiting outside for the rave in little more than underwear and shoes for hours on end will probably wind up with hypothermia...

All I ask is that the rain and wind are light...I'm not a fan of rain, and wind makes everything seem ten times colder than it really is and is not nice to long wigs...I can handle the cold, but dear weather gods of Acen please keep the rain and wind away...

And you guys all thought it would be 80 degrees out this weekend way back in March. ;P I hate to say it but I told you so!

Lucky for me BOTH of my cosplays are long sleeved, one has a leather jacket/shrug to keep me all warm.

It also could spontaneously start snowing! Chicago has records of snow showers in April and May since the late 1800's.
