Hi. My AA table is going to have some "set dressing" to play up the theme of our comic, which is a fantasy western.

We have two old-west style six shooters (replicas from BudK) that have been mounted and we'd like to display them at our table.

They are replicas so they do look reasonably lifelike. They have been painted but I don't reckon that changes much.

They are mounted, but are removable from those mounts.

No one will be wearing them as part of a costume, nor we will be passing them around for folk to look at.

We're going to orange tip them (plan is to paint a dowel rod orange and stuff the barrels).

Thanks for the input.

As long as they aren't being worn around the convention they should be fine.

I'd bring something to wrap them in (like a bandana or such to go with the theme :D) for transporting them so you don't get hassled. it's a .99 cent solution to any problems that could come up.
