ARE YOU REALLY? If you are, be prepared for the biggest bear hug ever. (And if you happen to be shorter than me then prepare to be lifted in the air as well lol).
@FlyingElf: I haven't been this into a series since Kingdom Hearts four-some years ago. Feels Goodman! And yeah, where IS that second season.......or at least gimme those movies, heh.

I guess I better be prepared, then, because I'm shorter than EVERYONE. Seriously. Every con, I'm the shortest Kotetsu, and in at least one case, shorter than Kaede.
Also eagerly awaiting movies and a second series... and the Sky High action figure that's apparently somewhere on the other side of Michigan right now. I already have Barnaby and Rock Bison, and I would be so ridiculously happy if I managed to find the Wild Tiger figure at ACen.

Even if you are the shortest Kotetsu, it's still awesome (ironically, me and Kotetsu are around the same height.)I thought about doing Ivan in the future and I might end up being the tallest Ivan ever, since he's in the 5'6-5'8 range lol.
I just got into this series even though I seen it around when it exploded last year. I totally am digging the Russia ninja and Sky high.
I still wonder about Bunny every single time I watch it though....

That IS an awesome picture. And wow, shorter than a Kaede, huh? I personally wouldn't mind cosplaying a fem!Kotetsu myself simply because I like his hat and vest, but I'd wear pants instead of a skirt because I hate skirts, lol. Wouldn't be able to wear the heeled spectator shoes either; would have to get flat ones...but then I might as well be a male Kotetsu, lol!
@cactusmomma: THANK YOU. I seemed to keep missing the actual release date. This fall, eh? Awesome.
@The Fujoshi: I got into it just after ACen last year. I'm so mad at myself for not getting a better look at the one or two cosplayers I saw there last year, who I knew were from the series but I didn't pay attention since I didn't know the show. Then I finally got curious enough from all the fanart to give it a try; especially since the synopsis didn't seem to make much sense, lol. I was worried it was a BL-fangirl's dream series ('cuz of the fanart, y'know), but it wasn't at all. I blame Kotetsu for sucking me in. U u U

It has a lot of BL, but it's actually a balanced show with the fans, compared to Hetalia/DRRR I like it because I was into comic books as a kid and it reminds me the Western Heroes. It also has a lot of straight pairings in it as well, especially with Blue Rose.
Favorite so far is: THE WHOLE CAST. I can relate to Ivan the most though, (even though I got Pao on a quiz LOL.)
Also it has really cute fan art:
Hero from SMT: DS2, Emmet/Kudari from Pokemon Black and White, Roppi Izaya from Durarara, Hitoshura human form from SMT.

Yeah I was pointing out how the fangirls (and boys,) haven't gone to Drrr/Hetalia status yet with the fanart. I mean there is a LOT of BL (boy's love,) but it's not so bad that I can't find normal stuff. Also I try to mainly focus on the characters and how
On a similar note:
Hero from SMT: DS2, Emmet/Kudari from Pokemon Black and White, Roppi Izaya from Durarara, Hitoshura human form from SMT.

I really find it interesting how people took so firmly to the dark versions and genderswapped versions of characters, like Black Tiger and Tetsuko, and how the fandom widely accepted certain fan-made designs (like the animal characters for Barnaby and Kotetsu) as legit designs when drawing them. But, it's been a LONG time since I've been in any fandom, so maybe those trends have been done before? I could never get into Hetalia myself, and I only liked Drrr until the last half of it and never made it to the fandom since all anyone seemed to care about was Shizuo/Izaya and ANYWAY...
I'm about an inch shorter than Kotetsu. I haven't taken any quizzes, but my best friend and I have agreed that she's the Barnaby and I'm the Kotetsu of our duo. I'm dorky, klutzy, I run funny (though not like him, lol), and sometimes my mind leaps in weird and often inaccurate ways.
BY THE WAY has anyone seen the movie trailer yet? TOO SHORT and I couldn't understand it of course, but WHOOOO EXCITED!

I'll readily admit I'm a Kotetsu/Barnaby fan, but for crying out loud, there are NO canon pairings (aside from those involving people who are dead, and my true OTP: Fire Emblem's hand/Rock Bison's butt), so we can all let people ship whatever they want. Especially since all the characters are made of awesome. I was so annoyed at Youmacon, when the subject of Blue Rose came up in the panel, and people started booing.
In fact, the open-mindedness in regards to diversity and variations from the Japanese "normal" is one of the things I love about the series. The fact that Fire Emblem exists, and is supported by the creators, for instance. Sure, he's flamboyant and over-the-top, but also really powerful, smart, and a successful businessman. Then there's the fact that Pao-lin's revelation wasn't "I should act more like a girl" but "I should appreciate my parents' love, even if they don't understand me". I saw someone tweet, shortly after Jake's first appearance, that with Antonio Lopez and Jake Martinez, that's two Latino characters in Tiger & Bunny - which was two more Latino characters than in the entirety of all the anime series released the year before. And not only is there ethnic variance in the main cast, but even in the random passers-by on the street in crowd scenes. And then there are older characters as opposed to the team of teens and early-20s... All kinds of diversity in the cast, and I really love that they're paying attention to stuff like this.
Granted, it's because it was originally made for older fans who "grew out" of anime and started reading American comics, but it really takes the best of both worlds and smashes them together wonderfully. I hope the wider audience reception doesn't mean they wind up changing their formula for further material, because as far as I'm concerned, it really works.

If there is any complaints, the one thing I wish was for more character developments in some cases. A few things are:
Nathen: How did he get to be where he was, what's his family like?
Keith: Same thing here, I'd like more on his back story.
Ivan: Maybe more in regards to how he's grown more and what his friend is doing.
Antonio: How about some flash backs with him and Kotesu, just to see how they were when they were younger.
Kotesu: Please more with his past and Tomoe. Please!!!! And training Kaede to use her powers.
Kaede: Learning to control her powers, or learning to be a hero.
I think they covered Pao-lin and Karina pretty well along with Barnaby. The only thing I can think of is maybe dealing with how they started out?
Other things I would like to see are:
Closure with Lunatic, maybe him finding peace so he doesn't have to murder more people. I love Yuri but I'd like to see a softer side of him.
Oroburus, that needs to be addressed. I know we have some clues but what are they, who are they, and why do they control money in Stern.
How will they help Kotesu when he looses his powers? Can he be a trainer or a teacher for the newer heros? Or work with that suit?
Second Stringers: I want to know who they are, there powers, they seem very cool and young and should be interacting with the first stringers as friends. I can see Ms. Violet becomeing friends with the girls in the first group.
Also, what might be nice, is someone who's not a NEXT becoming a hero as well. That would be cool to see how they could ultlize what they know or their training.

I wouldn't mind seeing Agnes getting her start too, but only 'cuz I like her quite a bit, lol.
By the way, I'm wanting to make a HeroTV staff jacket (a black one though, 'cuz yellow looks awful on me) before the con starts. I've never put a picture on a piece of clothing before, though. Any tips on what I should do to put the HeroTV logo on a jacket? What to use, how to put the image on it? I was originally thinking fabric paint but I'm not sure if I can make it crisp or neat enough. If I can't get a jacket in time, maybe I'll just grab a plain black t-shirt from Hobby Lobby or Walmart, ha.

Thanks for the tip! I suppose I could also make it easier [and cheaper] on me to do a one-color logo instead of using the full 3-4 color one, too. Mmmm, maybe a yellow logo too so I don't have to worry about the red not showing on black.........

I'm currently creating an art book I want to sell at cons. It'll feature some artwork of course, but my main feature is a crossover comic with TaiBani and Skyrim!
It's an AU comic, obviously, based in Skyrim some 300 years after the game, which, for those who haven't played it, is essentially about you killing dragons (and getting lost in the world and side quests while you're at it). Kotetsu is a member of the Companions (Companions = fighting guild), and lately the only missions he's been getting are silly escort missions or training new recruits. While he's on a training mission with new member Barnaby (who, needless to say, doesn't really need training at all), the pair literally fall onto a pair of dragons who tell them that they are fated heroes to save Skyrim from an impending doom (guess who that bad guy is gonna be). Barnaby reluctantly agrees to partner with the bumbling ojisan, but Kotetsu, as gung-ho as he is about saving the world, hasn't told Barnaby his shameful secret...Favorite characters will make an appearance, like Jarl Keith and Yuri, High King of Skyrim! This all started when I saw a parody of the Skyrim promo poster done with Adventure Time down at the ACen artist alley this year, lol. Then it just kinda exploded into a nerdy fangasm...
Anyone know a good place to get books printed? I'm afraid the local place around here might be too costly. xD;; I'm also thinking of just going for 20-30 copies. Is that too many? As you can tell, I'M excited about it, but I don't want to make more than I can sell... orz
So, uh, other than that, how's it going? 8D;; I'll just go sit over here and anxiously await news of a State-side movie premier for The Beginning......
