I'm going to C2e2. I was just wondering if Acen has this or not because C2e2 has it. If Acen has it. I plan to bring my laptop and some recording equipment and record some matches.
Ummm....I'm going to take you to court!

The Embasy Hotel also does not have WiFi. It'll cost you there as well.

Your best chance of finding free Wi-Fi in the area may be McDonald's. IF they are a "participating" restaurant. I don't know if they are.

They are. I update my Kindle there.

The Hyatt is now apparently offering complimentary "basic internet" (whatever that means) over wifi. I would not plan on counting on it, though. There is no guarantee it will be in operation for Acen weekend, and even if it is, with umpteen thousand people in the area, it may easily be overwhelmed and not responsive. Certainly not enough to do any streaming.

I can confirm that Verizon at least gets pretty good signal strength in the Hyatt. I was getting about 3bars for 3G service even in the international level (basement), and 4G down there was still operating at 1bar. I can't speak for other providers, but I would imagine as usual, that T-Mobile service will be spotty to non-existent that weekend. Seems to happen every year.

...Streaming? At Acen? Via Wireless?

Bitter, bitter experience tells me "Don't even try that." Just go to a video room, or watch a DVD on your computer.
There is a slight flaw in my character.

Well I can tell you that I got NO bars on my phone in the Hyatt Basement on either my ATT or T-Mobile based phones. So good luck. Upstairs it's better. Phone reception in the Convention Center was sometimes spotty as well. I can pick up Wi-Fi spots in the Hyatt meeting areas on my netbook but they are all pay to play. Haven't checked out any other hotels yet.

Would be awesome, if we could stream. It will attract more fighting game players for umvc3, SFXT, Mk9, and Sc5.

There is wifi to be had that probably works decently. Just most likely not for free ;)

For some reason, all throughout last year's con, my T-Mobile phone did not want to connect to the network at all, both data and calls. Even standing outside didn't help. It was like the network was overloaded, as the problems only went away either late at night/early morning, or when I switched to the 2G network. It was really strange...

Anyway, the only free wi-fi I'm aware of around the convention area are the McDonald's and the Aloft hotel. It doesn't help that three of the hotels opposite River Rd. from the center are all Hilton hotels, and they always charge. :/
