I was just wondering if there might be interest in something like this.

I know there will be multiple vendors with ccg booster boxes for sale all weekend at the con. Anyone want to hang out as a group and just bust open boxes from any and every game and perhaps trade on site?

If you mean everyone buys their own boxes........ They're pretty expensive...

Boosters really aren't that expensive. You can even find obscure games just for fun and all (recalls opening an Evangelion CCG box).

I don't currently collect any games so won't be attending, but this is a pretty damned solid idea.

Pokemon booster boxes are ~$95-140 depending where you get 'em (or were last I knew in '10/'11), and the DH in DESCC will likely be a lot more than that internets price; I imagine other brands would be similar in price and con inflation. :/

Still, had I the money to do something like this, I'd go and do it, sure. *stares at lotto tickets & wills them to transform into dollars*

This is kind of what I was thinking, too. I know Yugi and Vanguard are around $75 a box while Mtg and Pokemon are over $100... There are also things like DBZ, Evangelion, Naruto.... Plenty of options for a fun time.

I am far from rich myself. I meant no disrespect to anyone, and I apologize if it came across that way.

If anyone is opening ccg products at the con, I would love to make it a group fun situation. If not, I will probably just find a table and bust by myself. Either way I am looking forward to meeting people and talking shop in the tabletop gaming area.
