White Sox fan here, not expecting much this year, just hope the Sox can give me some enjoyment, even if they have no real chance in the division. :D

The cubs have had some promising starts this year (blown by their horrid bullpen), but ultimately they are in a rebuilding phase, so I wouldn't expect much out of this year...or the next few years for that matter. Hey, Theo promises a world series within the next 10 years though. I guess we cub fans just have to do what we always do and remain optimistic. :)

Fellow White Sox fan here! As stated above, not expecting much, but still hoping. Dunn actually has done pretty decent so far (I almost had a heart attack when he hit a homer!). I miss Ozzie and Buherle though... I hope Ventura does a good job.

Yeah, that will be the most interesting part of this season, how well Robin does, considering his lack of experience.

In other news, you think Kenny is enjoying what's going down in Miami at the moment? :P

He did the same thing with the Red Sox...twice. 10 years is a long time away! I'm not expecting any big turn around any time soon

Proud Cardinals fan here! I went to the Cards game on Easter with my family and they kicked some butt! I am hoping the Cards will continue to do well without Pujols and hoping that Freese will make up for him leaving. :)

I'll probably be going to Cubs games since my grandpa has season tickets on the 3rd base line (Section 215) and my boyfriend is a Cubs fan. My grandpa saves the Cubs-Cards games for my family and I think we are getting tickets for one of the Cubs-Sox games. I was fortunate enough to go to the Cubs-Yankees game last year, but I'm not fortunate enough to go to the Cubs-Red Sox game this year. I'm hoping to go to more Cardinal games this year, but it's easier to go to Cubs games since I don't have to pay for the tickets or parking if we drive down there (my uncle lives a mile away from Wrigley Field so we park there).

Proud Cubs fan here, remember it's just the start of the season, wait till June and July then get worried, and especially in August to October.

Also find it a bit sad that it took them till Ron Santos to pass away to put him in the hall of fame. I mean seriously was it in the end, "Oh boo hoo, Ronnie is not with us, lets put him in." sort of vote, because if it was then I don't think he would have liked that at all.

First point of note the American League is not real baseball, and cannot be compared to the greatness that is the National League. The Mets start for the season has given me some hope for the year. I'm staying restrained in my optimism at this time still.

I'm an avid White Sox fan, and even I am inclined to agree with you. If you take the field, you should have to bat.

Honestly the DH rule doesn't bug me, the inconsistency does. Pick one and go with it. Either every team gets a DH or every pitcher bats.

I agree with you. While the DH is more exciting than seeing the pitcher bat, I definitely prefer the National League. More strategy is involved. Another thing the DH complicates in interleague play, where the AL dominates the NL every year because they actually have DH's.

Exactly, the AL has bigger salaries. One team starts paying a DH big money, now all of a sudden other teams have to do so to continue to compete. Its a snowball effect.

I do enjoy baseball, but I really do wish it was a more consistent sport. Not only is there the DH rule, but the fact that all ballparks are different sizes was always weird to me. Baseball is a sport that seems to pride itself on statistics, so why would the fields be of any different size? No other sport is like that. Solider Field isn't 108 yards while Ford Field is 126. No, all fields are 120 yards long (100 yards + 2 10 yard end zones).

Since I'm already on a rant, going to hit what could be my 3rd concern with baseball here. Adding more wildcard teams. Your season is 162 games. They should count, they should mean something. Half the teams should not make the playoffs. Making the playoffs should be a feat with how many games it takes to get there.
