RUSSELL LISSAU is proud to be returning to ACen as a guest. By day, he's a mild-mannered newspaper reporter in suburban Chicago. By night, he battles evil writing comic books including THE BATMAN STRIKES!, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE and ONE LAST THING. He broke into comics in 2005 with the lead story in BATMAN ALLIES SECRET FILES AND ORIGINS. (A lifelong Batman fan who dressed up as the Caped Crusader as a child, he can’t believe his luck.) His most recent projects include: "Daddy's Girl," which was included in the KAGEMONO: FLOWERS AND SKULLS horror anthology and was called "The best zombie story since The Walking Dead," and "The Blueberry Flu," a STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE story he co-wrote with his 9-year-old daughter. (Diverse, right?) To learn more, check out www.facebook.com/russell.lissau.

And I'm looking forward to hosting those panels! I should have some new ones this year, including something about writing horror comics.

Ken, can you remind me who we need to talk with about guest panels?

Ken is out of the country, so I'm not sure how active he will be on the boards. I will see what I can find out for you, you can probably talk to the head of our Panel Department directly as I'm sure she is wanting to get the guest panels in place.
You can reach her at panelprogramming [AT] acen.org

Actually, it's my scheduling assistant, Elizabeth. I'll make sure she reaches out to you soon.

She did, and she liked the idea I suggested. Thanks, Ken.

I'm going to make a special offer for anyone who hangs out here. Print and cut out this posting, then bring it to my booth, and I'll give you a free comic (an issue of OMEGA COMICS PRESENTS, which has some of my best indie crime and horror stories) with the purchase of any comic. It's a thank-you for your continued support of ACen and the guests.

See you in a month!

Russ is a great guy with some excellent experience (the dude wrote Batman as his first published work, seriously), and a fun and energetic attitude towards comics and storytelling. If you see him at the show, be sure to stop by and ask about his latest projects.

Also, his panels are KILLER! I've been friends with him for years now and I learn something new every time I go.
Visit http://www.trevoramueller.com for your daily dose of awesome!

Hey, folks, there are some things I want to tell you about.

I'll have some new books on my table since Acen2011, particularly the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE comics I wrote with my daughter, Meredith, and THE BEST OF OMEGA COMICS PRESENTS, a tpb that collects some of my best short stories.

I also will have more copies of the KAGEMONO horror anthology, which sold out last year.

And finally, I will have a portfolio containing original art from my books with artist mpMann. They will be for sale, so bring your pennies.

Here here, can't wait to check out your writing panels. Hopefully I'll get some interesting tips on writing comic characters, and ones that have already been established.

ACen attendees: come to me or Trevor at the con with proof you pledged $50 or more for The Graphic Textbook at the show, and you will get an extra prize. If you come to me, I'll give you a free sketch of Harley Quinn, Joker, Dream or another character who strikes my fancy at the moment!
