When is the deadline to turn in submissions? I was thinking of doing a 2 minute AMV given the time frame.

Is .h264 ok? The format itself is a byproduct of .mp4 (and is in fact considered mpg4 part 10 to some) and should be compatible. Asking as I would have to re-encode my video.

If you give us something that isn't .mp4, and we can't get your video to play, we're not going to screen it. Please bear in mind that, for this year, I'm utterly new to this, my assistant is new to this, and we don't have a lot of time. If you think that it's going to be compatible, of course, send it in!

...It's just that if you make it too hard to get to play, I won't have time to figure out how to fix that.

Erg. I dislike credits and watermarks. But I won't ban them this year. (When we run contests, next year? Expect them to be banned.) Requirements as I see it: .mp4, or something highly compatible with same. Less than 7 minutes. Uh, if your credits last more than 3 seconds, I'm not very likely to show your video. Keep it PG-13 or less. Also, if it's not an anime music video-- containing, y'know, actual anime footage-- I'm not very likely to show it.

Aside from that... nah. I'm too fussy as it is.

Also, will they be played according to category or something? I'd like to gauge audience reaction if mine gets shown.

Excellent questions!

I'd say that beyond about three submissions, we're going to ask people to sit on their hands and let somebody else fill in for a change.

They'll be shown according to category if we have enough to bother. Since there isn't a contest, I'm trying to not be overenthusiastic about the response...

Any requirement for the dimensions of the video? (wide screen, nothing above 720p, etc.)

I'd recommend 720x480. Unfortunately, I won't know for another week or two at a minimum what the capabilities of the computer we're using are.

This is my first time submitting an amv to ACEN and of friend of mine encouraged me to do so.

A couple questions, when we submit a video, for the video info, do you want us submit through the e-mail the info about it, or have it on the video itself, like for 2 to 3 seconds intro. I saw from another post someone asked about that, and I saw you don't like watermarks or credits. So I wanted to ask.

And another question, when screening the amvs, which computer you be using, windows or mac?

Also, would it matter if the video file be too big? I know I seen some amvs around 3 minutes get big as 500 MB, which is huge. The one I want to submit is on mp4 format, 1280 x 720 format, and only 42 MB. Sorry if it sounds redundant from another question. If it's too big dimension, I could do 720 x 480 format.

I'd prefer that you include the information separately, rather than in the video.

We use PCs to watch videos, and don't be concerned about file size.

If you entered it in our contest last year, we, uh, already have it.

As for info... this is the year that I'm not fussy, but anime, song choice, and creator would make sense to me.

Well, sure. Just upload it to a filesharing site and send us the link-- Rapidshare or Mediafire, for example.

I'm not sure what you mean by "AMV Hell style videos." If it features mostly anime footage, and some kind of soundtrack... and is PG-13... we'll probably accept it.

Uh, one further caveat: Don't send us a political commercial disguised as an AMV. You wouldn't think I'd need to say that, but...

thats kind of sad lol. political amvs XD. and uh my video is 8 minutes and 22 seconds long. IDK is that alright? I know you said 7 minutes ill email it and you can let me know. Its a parody of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
