Okay, all. I'm putting the information all in one place on the main site. Go to http://www.acen.org/...retty-tea-party to see the details. I will post the menu there when the choices have been made by the Angelic Pretty crew, and the sales date will be added along with the link to purchase once those are ready.

Once again, I apologize for the delay in getting this out to everyone (and incompletely at that).

Thanks for the update.

I feel good for them, it means they won't be wearing non-lolita to a lolita brand tea party. smh @ anyone who shows up to a mid-day lolita party in black tie attire... El Ken, should we f5 that page, or will you post sale time information here as well? :)

No need to start F5ing now. I will post here when I make an update to that page.

...and speaking of which, I made an update to that page. Though, it's contradictory. The Dress Code was updated to reflect the requirement of wearing Angelic Pretty. Also specified is that the other formalwear is made acceptable primarily in case a lolita brings a date. Overall, though, everyone is expected to be dressed lolita with an Angelic Pretty item at a minimum.

Can you clarify the dress code a bit further by saying at least one AP item on the page when you get a chance? Right now the dress code reads a little ambiguous and people may be wondering if it is head-to-toe AP, mainly AP, or just a little AP required.

There's no hurry, I just wanted to bring this to your attention. ^^

Thanks again for all the updates today.

I don't understand this rule at all: "Purposefully replicating brand-themed coordinates (such as those in advertising or print campaigns) in a cosplay-like style or manner."
"Men's hearts hold shadows darker than any tainted creature."

I think it means doing something like dressing up exactly like Maki in the Twinkle Mermaid ad (as an example). Basically no cosplaying brand ads? Although El Ken is more than welcome to correct me if I'm mistaken ^^

Wow. You're kidding. So if your overall look is too close to a look they used in an advertisement/promo, you're not allowed in?

I mean, for the dress I was thinking of wearing, they had the model wear a pink wig in the ad, which I had never even contemplated. But it looked GREAT, so I bought myself a pink wig to go with it.

I don't know how close you'd have to be.. probably as exact as possible. Same dress, same shoes, same accessories, same hair or wig style? We might need clarification of this perhaps? A lot of girls really like AP's ads and might choose to do something similar to the ad.

I wouldn't think simply choosing to wear a wig of the same color would count as cosplaying an ad though.

Yeah, I mean, a lot of girls use the ads as inspiration. So I was a little confused by that rule.

Wondering something now, the word replicating could mean copying, or creating a copy of the item and not the item itself. Going with Ad example, lets assume someone liked the ad enough to cosplay the character that was in the ad, but not use the AP items to do so and make their own cosplay of it. I'm wondering if that's what they're talking about here, rather then matching the ad with their actual brand clothing. Because if it is a case of, you can't look like the ad you saw in a magazine, well then...there's a bit of a problem there, considering the idea of ads mostly are used as a means of, as you said, creating inspiration for a look, or in somecases to actually wear the look that you see. That's why some ads in magazines state where to get the items you see in the photos. Sorry for rambleing..its late.

I think what they mean is to make it strictly about the fashion and not trying to copy it making it a Cosplay? But what if it is replicating it as a fashion...err...*headsplode*

I think they just want people to be dressed appropriately how they would at a formal event which includes cute Lolita clothing. So no crazy wigs and whatnot. Just lovely elegance.

I'm thinking it's just a weird wording on the 'No replicas' allowed issue. Brand print may mean ad, but it also may mean prints, as in an actual print picture.
As for wigs, I'm going to have to wear one, my hair is fried :/

Seems unlikely cause replicas are mentioned much earlier and it says they are 'discouraged' not 'banned' in the dress code.

Erm, not replicas per se, I meant like replicating the print picture, someone trying to cosplay as "Milky-chan the fawn" or "Lyrical Bunny".
Yeah...I'm grasping at straws here...

I wonder why the mention of dates, because at all the brand tea parties I've seen all participants are required to adhere to the brand dress code. Whether it be coordinating a lolita outfit or wearing those pants/shorts that the brand comes out with in a boystyle look regardless of gender. At a regular meet-up this would not be a problem at all- even if dates did not want to dress up- but for a brand event with limited seating AND a pricetag? I do think that this event should be for fans of the lolita fashion and an appreciation event for the brand itself and that dates should be required to adhere to the same dress code as the original participants. An opinion and food for thought I guess!

So is it ok if you make a Lolita dreass of your own design, or is that a No? So you do need a wear Angelic Pretty and nothing ells.

"Purposefully replicating brand-themed coordinates (such as those in advertising or print campaigns) in a cosplay-like style or manner"

I think this means something like trying to wear the exact same thing to a T as the model in the ad, possibly even by making things yourself? I'm not really sure either. Kind of similarly to how people do Mana cosplays?

I'm sure that's fine. The rule of thumb at things like this is you either wear an AP dress, or if they're too expensive/small you wear an indies brand dress or something beautiful that's handmade. It would only be rude to wear a dress from a different brand, a dress from bodyline, or a replica.

As for the cosplaying a print ad issue, I assume it's the same thing as cosplaying mana. The people who cosplay mana aren't buying MMM dresses, they're sewing their own cosplay replicas of his clothing. That counts as a replica in AP's eyes, and they hate replicas. Just my guess!

I think that as long as your dress fits the lolita aesthetic, it would be fine. It's better to wear something handmade than a dress from Angelic Pretty's direct competition like Baby, the Stars Shine Bright or Metamorphose.

I don't see this type of event coming back next year. The rules for this event are too confusing and strict at the same time. Not to mention expensive.

I hope you're wrong. The Chicago lolita community is tight-knit and we've been bugging out ever since this tea party was announced a month ago. We could not be more excited, and we hope maki and asuka have an amazing time and come back again! We're very lucky, they haven't gone outside California before this summer. Please don't be a bitter kitten!
