Hello!
I'm so happy to be here, and hope to make some new friends here, as I'm a recent transplant from Korea/Japan after 6 years and before that So. Cal, so I don't have any friends. Sad, isn't it?
This is my first Acen and I'm really looking forward to this. It's not my first convention, though. I first started going to Anime Expo in 03 and then went to Seoul Comic World in Korea for about five years. Because of my small height (I'm only five feet), I'm kind of actually looking forward to not getting glomped to death.
I will be there all three days and so far I will be cosplaying as Ciel (Kuroshitsuji) and Naruto. I'm kind of split between cosplaying as Yuna from FF10 or Yuffie from FF7...although chances are, I might just go as Kotoko from Chobits because of my stature, haha.
I will also be attending KollisionCon in November.
Looking forward to meet some of you at the con!

Welcome to the Acen scene, hope it goes even better than you planned, keep your guard up and you should be fine against glompers, truth be told it's wearing down. Enjoy yourself!

@Haru: Gah. You mean people do get glomped at ACEN? I'll be by myself and because I'm so small, people tend to run me over. Last time I cosplayed as Momo from Bleach and I actually had to tell people to leave me alone. T^T I came off as standoffish.
@blackcat: I guess I wouldn't mind if people asked me before just tackling me...it's the random people who jump out of nowhere and try to strangle you that's the problem.
@Naoya: Yes, after I graduated from HS, my parents decided to move back to Korea, so I went to college there and transferred to a small regional university in Fukuoka for my last year. ^^ I really miss Asia.

I haven't been outside of the USA myself, but my dream was to go to Socchi, Russia and Hokkaido one dayI rather live in Hokkaido though.
Everyone on the forum is friend and Acen is a big con so you should have tons to do. There is a meet and greet here to make friends from the forums and it's not that hard to socialize and make friends in general!

Id probably be missing it too lol. ive only ever been to mexico as part of my last job. it was a fun experience. the job im at right now might give me the opportunity to visit all over the world though so heres hoping XD. so what did you you go to school for?

@Fujoshi: I've been to Hokkaido and it's beautiful there. Very cold in the winter though!

@Xeno: Haha, I felt the same way about Chobits. It seemed like a pretty perverted anime, but the anime got pretty dark/deep after the first ten episodes. I'm such a fan of Hideki because he's very hardworking.

Four costumes might be a little much, especially since my hotel isn't in the immediate area...;;; Yes, I hope to see you at Acen ^^ I will probably be the true-to-life Ciel in black with a top hat and a fanny pack on Friday. I only say true-to-life because we're the same height. *dies*
@Kent: Well, it depends on what you like. I'm always a fan of their AMVs and Karaoke Contest. The last time I was there, I sang with Catherine O'Sange aka HIMEKA...which was back in 2003. I don't know how much has changed though.

Although, I do fit in some hiking bags...O__O The cons in Korea are definitely populated by a younger crowd. Most of the cosplayers are in middle/high school with a couple in college. It's rare to see someone cosplaying who's over the age of 25 here.
