I need an accountability buddy! Anyone else trying to lose a few pounds before the con?

Basically, I'm looking for someone I can be in contact with every day. We can calorie count, talk about our struggles, exercises, share tips and encourage one another to do what we can before ACen.
I'm sure there are other people out there with the "Aah, not today!" problem when it comes to eating healthy and working out. But if I can have someone to talk to about this every day, I know it can happen. =]
Friday: Fem!Captain Hammer
Saturday: Sarah Jane Smith
Sunday: Poison Ivy

In that, I didn't even notice I lost 30 lbs until my pants stopped fitting right.
Worse, I don't even calorie count. I just eat lots of veggies, a bit of fish and gluten free whole grains.

I'd offer, but not really looking to lose weight myself, so not sure that really helps you.

Jokes aside, I can't do the former because I am underweight and trying to eat again, but I can motivate you to "PUT DOWN THAT CAKE," and things like that.
Best thing to do is if you get craving, opt for a healthy alternative, do not get the cookies and greasy foods; instead get figs/trail mix/breakfast yogurt trail mix/nuts/etc. and do what wingy said and cut out the gluten/get veggies. Eat sprouts/tomatoes/spinach/etc. IF YOU HATE Spinach, it may sound weird, but mix it with a lot of fruits into a smoothie; you wouldn't know you are eating it unless you do a placebo affect and make yourself think about it, get grossed out.
Jamba Juice does it all the time and it's awesome way to cut pounds.
Also no pops, outside of ginger ale, and drink more tea/water. Drinking six-eight actually makes you lose weight if you drink that more than the juices/etc. If you must drink juice, do cranberry for your tract or do organic 100% juices such as pom.

Awesome tips, THANK YOU. I stay away from pop as much as possible. My real vice is alcohol right now. SOO many calories, and I just turned 21 three weeks ago so everyone wants to go bar hopping with me and such... Blarg.
I loove spinach, but lately I've gotten away from veggies and all that, which is sad... I love veggies usually. I'm going to do some healthful grocery shopping today.

I was pretty content with how I looked then and I'm still not used to the me now.
Still feel like my old self until I try to put on my old pants and watch them fall down. *grumbles*
No one ever tells you how you will feel after losing a ton of weight like that unfortunately.
But what I did:
I stopped eating red meat and ate more vegetables (too expensive and made my stomach hurt).
I ate more than once a day (blood sugar was spiky and I was more active).
I ate more high fiber foods like brown rice, quinoa, chia seeds and flax seeds (gluten free diet is low fiber usually).
I stopped eating almost any dairy (damn you goat cheese) and absolutely no gluten (intolerances).
I exercised 3-4x a week between 20 to 40 minutes a day (I wasn't sleeping right).
I was ballroom dancing (It's fun!).
So yeah, if weight loss is the goal, those things probably would work.
I just had the rare fortune to stumble into it I guess.
Edit: After reading what other people had to say - I do think it's okay to occasionally indulge, because making foods into "the enemy" is just setting yourself up for failure imo. The key is to be satisfied with a couple bites. So a can of pop every now and then isn't going to kill anyone or a small brownie. Just don't eat the entire batch!
And yeah. Lots of water and tea. Lootttss of water and tea.
Roobios tea plus pomegranate juice with a touch of agave nectar? De. Li. Ci. Ous.

Yes stay away from alcohol! My mom has a beer gut from years of drinking! Or drink in moderation. Drinking wine is better than say V-0/Hypnotic/etc. if you do it in moderation.
Just remember if you drink, don't go crazy =w=
Also stay away from MSG and anything over 1k in sodium; apparently I had this issue ._.
This is actually a good rice dish if you sub a few things
There is a recipe that I really LOVE that suppose to fight off cancer and other stuff: (You don't have to do this step by step; just sub what you can!)
Ingredients
2 (28 oz) cans Italian tomatoes, drained and crushed
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp dried hot red pepper flakes
2 tbsp capers
1/2 cup black olives, pitted and chopped
3 mashed garlic cloves
2 tbsp fresh basil leaves, minced
1 lb dried pasta
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 package/can of healthy pouch/canned tuna (low-mercury type)
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, olive oil, red pepper flakes, capers, olives, garlic and basil. Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Add the tuna to the mix. Cook the pasta in rapidly boiling water until al dente. Drain well. Toss the hot pasta with the tomato mixture. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

Btw canti, that doesn't sound like a good idea. why not keep it simple and run and walk up stairs without weights. you should lift weights more then carrying. Extra weight anywhere tends to strain your muscles.

i do just walk up and down the stairs so i dont stress body to much :x

I, too, am gluten intolerant. It makes my organs and lymph nodes swell.o_O I actually dropped 15 pounds in a few weeks by cutting it out. My problem now is that the people I live with fill the house with doughnuts and cake and cookies and chips and wheat liquor and other crap. Eew.
On the plus side, I made home made, vegetarian, gluten free potato chili last night and it is AMAZING.

Anyways losing weight has a lot to do with with calorie intake of course. It will take time to see how much calories a day I should eat before I start losing weight. Then I will start exercising I'll lose most of my water weight since exercising (like running or aerobics) doesn't really burn fat. (Its mostly dieting that you can lose the most weight with) Lift some weights after running to keep my heart rate up and burn some calories that's where you really burn fat. I have to make sure I have enough protein don't want my muscles to break down. (That's why there's so many protein drinks at clubs) Then make sure you have a good nights rest. It helps your body process the food you eat better because it can focus on that more when your sleeping.
