I've seen a lot of Chicagoeans on the Youtube page getting interviews, so I was wondering how many people actually knew about Cosplay nation. It's essentially a documentary team that goes across the country and interviews every day cosplayers like you or myself. Here's how they describe themselves;

"Cosplayer Nation is excited to announce their documentary COSPLAYER NATION: A Documentary on Cosplay across America which is set for its world premiere to be announced.

Started in late December 2010 by up and coming documentary film makers Joshua Adams and Uke Lee, COSPLAYER NATION: A Documentary on Cosplayer across America is a movie about cosplay from the perspective of the cosplayers and was filmed at events in Boston and around the world including: Anime Boston, Boston Comic Con, Pax East, Anime USA in Virginia as well as San Diego comic con and in France.

Josh Adams and Uke Lee look at this as a “culmination of their lifelong passion for Animé” and want to thank everyone who has helped with this project so far, including but not limited to Professor Susan Napier from Tufts University, Erik Limardo, as well as animé voice actors like Vic Mignogna, Christopher Smith, and Tanya Tate. What will be taking place next is we will begin integration of a social networking platform into CosplayerNation.com and continuing to improve and build out the site to make it the ultimate resource for anyone looking to find out more information about cosplaying and what is happening in the world of cosplaying around the globe.

Be sure to check for updates as well as the Conventions we will be covering. Check out our facebook page (Cosplayer Nation) and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/cosplayernationtv) and as always on our website - www.CosplayerNation.com for more information and sneak previews and clips of our upcoming documentary."

Has anyone here been interviewed?

Also, what do you think about cosplay documentaries? Would you buy a DVD if one was available in Barnes and Noble or something?

I think documentaries like this are a great way to get the positives of the con scene out there; so many times, it's outside media looking in. But this is a documentary by those in the scene for those in it, so it will actually probably be a lot more objective.

I would be interested in purchasing and seeing the film. I really like documentaries based on anime and the industry and stuff and a cosplay documentary is a super awesome idea/thing more people should do--ince they REALLY show what the crowd of cosplayiing and what the anime world really is. It's not what people think, and I feel it gives us the respect and at least acknowledgement we deserve as a community.

I've never been interviewed myself, or heard of CosplayNation, but I would really love to following them and seeing their work. I really just love documentaries in general, and mixing anime into it--it turns into a must see for me. Thanks for posting this. :)

I've been on camera and interviewed twice in cosplay, but not by Cosplay Nation. I think its a great idea to get our images out there to the world, and show them just what it means to be a cosplayer. I would totally buy that if I saw it in stores or online. I don't see enough coverage about one of my favorite hobbies. : )
