Hey, everyone! Mods, I'm not entirely sure if this is allowed so if there's something wrong with it, go ahead and delete.

Alright, so the deal is this: ACen 2012 will be my first ACen, and I only actually know one person in the group I'm going with. Might be fairly lonely. I'm not sure how many others are in a similar situation, so I thought I'd set this up so maybe a few of us can get to know each other and have more people to hang out with by the time the con rolls around

Personality Type: Sort of the 'intellectual' type. I love conversation about a range of topics, from culture to food. A big part of my life revolves around being a part of various fandoms (surprise!). I'm usually pretty polite and quiet, but if I feel comfortable around someone, I can be really goofy
Interests: I like drawing, reading (lots of fanfiction lately), cultures, fantasy novels, sewing and studying Japanese. ...And being a total geek.
Bio: I've loved anime since before I knew what anime was, my earliest favorites being My Neighbor Totoro, Sailor Moon, The Brave Little Frog and A Journey Through Fairyland. I've been going to cons since the age of 14, though by now it's been 3 years since I last went. Also, if you are looking for people to hang out with, there is the forum meet and greet on Thursday night as well as I usually host a party in Anime Punch's name that we pretty much invite everyone to.

Though the forum community is pretty friendly as a whole and if you stick around a bit and talk to people, you're sure to make friends in general.

Tomato Graffiti, it sounds like you're in central Indiana. If you look around Facebook or Meetup.com, then you can probably find at least a group or two relevant to your interests around Indianapolis. Small cities don't tend to have diverse fan/interest groups, but if you live near a decent size city or college, then you might be in luck.

After standing in line for a few hours Thursday afternoon/evening last year, I attended a get-together at a local IHOP restaurant. While it got loud and kinda crazy after a while, I was able to talk to individual con-goers there for more than a few minutes. It was rather enjoyable. Hopefully a similar gathering will happen in 2012.
