Hello all from a newbie Long time anime viewer, new anime con goer

Hi everyone! My name's Jake. Pleased to meet you all.

Let's see... I'm a 37 year old Software Engineer living in Indianapolis with my wife, two dogs and a cat. I've been into anime since like forever, but this is my first year attending any anime cons or cosplaying. A friend of mine invited me to ACen this year, and we just got back from Ohayocon. What a rush!

Currently my only cosplay is Austria from Hetalia, and my wife Sharon goes as Hungary. I'm thinking of adding somebody from Kingdom Hearts too, although I have some ideas for more original cosplays as well.

My favorite anime ever is Madoka Magica. It beat out Serial Experiments Lain for the top spot easily. My other favorites are Nanoha and Dennou Coil.

Currently I'm watching Future Diary, which I think is really awesome, and Katanagatari, which is just ok but it has a really interesting art style.

I look forward to seeing you all at ACen!

WElcome, Hope ACen is Awesomely spectacular. I've been to Ohayocon once but it was a few years ago (not sure if it's grown a bit) but ACEN is so much bigger and better (in my opinion).

Don't do cosplay wish I did, I've heard good things about Madoka, and wish I could have more time to watch anime but I usually end up playing a game lol.... ^.^

Madoka is awesome. Homura is the best anime character evar. True fact.

Ohayocon had something like 13,000 people this year. The only larger con I've been to is GenCon, which gets about 30k people iirc.

Okay, with Skytherin being 37 I don't feel so old being 28 (turned this year). lol I guess this adds to the diversity of people of all ages at such events.
