I'm not staff, but the problem i see is a lot of people are allergic to animals so it may not be allowed at the con itself.

I believe from the top of my head not 100% sure but only people that need a service animal are allowed to bring their dog into the convention center. And I believe form another con I was at there someone had brought their dog to that con with fake tags to have the dog seem like it was a service dog, and it attacked someones real service dog. Stuff really wasn't cool, and its not cool to bring an animal that doesn't get along with the others and harms the ones that actually work for someone.

He's an extremely mild-mannered and friendly dog to both people and animals, so I don't see him attacking anyone. In fact, the thought of a corgi attacking is almost humorous to picture, haha. But I can definitely see why there'd be rules against it. You can't really just take someone's word that it's a "nice" dog.

If he's not allowed to be out and about the convention, I just won't bother to bring him. I'd hate to pay the extra money and keep him cooped up in a hotel room. Thank you!

The dog would not be allowed in any of our panels. A closed space with allergies would not end well and ruin the experience for our attendees who are alergic to dogs and make it so our staff who are allergic couldn't do their jobs in those rooms. It's also highly suggested that dogs not go into the con center. We have over 23,000 people. Unless it's a service dog it will be uncomfortable, and become stressed at the new chaotic environment no matter how mild mannered it seems, it will be a shock to it and I personally think it's unfair to the animal to put it through that situation to have a neat cosplay. Also The embassy is pretty much full and the only hotel in our block left that I'm aware of that allows pets for an extra $50ish a night.

Now that my hurt feelings have been vocalized, thank you for the additional information.

End thread.

EDIT: Sorry. I can't really ignore the fact that many people use pets as accessories, and you were likely just speaking against that. It is not your fault that you don't know me nor my dog, and I shouldn't get so upset for your concern of the well-being of my animals. I guess working as a dog groomer, I'm fairly touchy when someone assumes I treat my dog poorly. ^^; So sorry again, just struck a nerve for a few minutes there.

Still, end thread.

Bloo is correct. Hotel and convention center policies prohibit pets. ACen policy is no pets, however certified assistance animals are always welcome.

Personally besides service animals, I would be surprised if ANY convention besides maybe one dedicated towards animals (no, I'm not talking furries conventions either) would allows pets there. I don't think Bloo was trying to be rude at all, she was just giving an answer.

Besides, it wouldn't be a safe environment for your dog anyway. With the crowds we get, he'd be constantly getting stepped on, tripped over, kicked and generally beat up (this is also why I discourage the use of strollers here as well.) He may make your costume perfect, but is it worth risking his safety?
