So once again I will be trying to get a group to hit up Gibson's steakhouse for dinner Friday nite of the con. I truly believe that everyone should enjoy at least one good meal during the con and Gibson's is right across from the convention center. All parties interested feel free to post. I will answer any and all questions.

Ahh yes the wonderful Gibson's Steakhouse! :) My husband and I will going again this year, as Friday is his actual Birthday :D and that's where he wanted to go :) We already placed a reservation for Friday at 6pm for up to 8 people, only 6 are confirmed so far though. I hope to get to look at the panel/event lists once they have them ready to make sure we wont miss anything we want to see/attend. I figure I can always adjust the time if needed later.

If you don't mind eating a little earlier(if I recall you planned for 8pm? last year)maybe you can join us/ bring your group along to!

Sooo looking forward to this coming Acen and dinner! :happydance:

Gibsons is pretty great. There is also a Hugos Frog Bar in Rivers Casino which is kind of similar...

I will consider joining up with you Stormy if my group doesn't get to big.
Hugos is owned by Gibson's and has almost the same menu so I decided to just hit Gibson's because it is a walkable distance from the hotel.
Hope you can make it Jello.

Looks like the usual people have already committed. Just waiting to see if anyone else is interested.

I'm thinking that I'd like to go to this. Gotta talk to the fiance & my friends to see if they're down.
What that do?

If you never been then you should go at least once, unless you are a vegan.

I've got to be honest though, I'm not sure Gibson can make a better steak than the one I had at the Hyatt's O'H. Which is the best steak I've ever had.

I find it hard to believe the best steak you ever had was outside of Texas. Seriously, we've eaten at Gibson's three times and haven't had a single problem with the service or food.

My sister and I will be partying like fools, but who knows - maybe she'll be the one to remember in the duo that we need to eat.
Anything that's *not* red meat on the menu? XD

Just posting the good fortune we all have had at Gibson's. So, you never did the Big Texan challenge?

I can't say I have taken such a challenge before. However, I'm guessing it involves eating a big steak which I'm not really a fan of. With those large steaks there's pretty much no way to cook them evenly and so you have varying degrees of doneness and that's kinda gross to me. :<

As I've gotten older, the less cooking I want for my meat (when I actually have it).

By 50, I'll probably want the thing rare.

70? Just bring me the cow.
