It's hard to ignore Final Fantasy: a name that has been embedded into our diverse gaming culture since the late 80's and well into the present. Especially today, where Final Fantasy games spawn sequels within themselves, it's hard to talk about video game RPGs and -not- bring up the name. Final Fantasy. And that is exactly the kind of thinking that created our panel! Allow me to present to you: RPGs of the Ages That -Don't- Start With Final Fantasy!

We experienced such great success with last year's panel that we've managed to level-up! The 4th incarnation of our highly-successful interactive discussion about video game RPGs will be opening the doors to discuss not just 90s RPGs but RPGs both old and new! Audience participation was at an all-time high last year and we plan to continue with that flow to keep everyone involved and having just as much fun as we are! Want to talk shop with a huge gathering of your gamer brethren? Got an all too familiar horror story related to grinding, rare item hunting, the save point too far away, or that boss that you just couldn't beat by any means? Got a shining gem in your RPG repertoire that you feel may have been much bigger had it -not- been eclipsed by the all-too-mighty Final Fantasy series? Then that makes you all the more welcome to attend! The agenda this year will include: topic selections by each of the panelists, a "Name That RPG"-section (with various clips, pictures, and music for selected audience members to identify along with video game-related prizes), an open-ended audience topic selection, and a little feature on our exclusive 'RPG of the Month Club.'

Can't wait to see you folks in April!

I feel like I need to challenge you with a huge list of RPGs that I've played. I may do that. Tomorrow.

By all means bring your challenge to our panel, just remember we might not get to answer all your questions/statements. Audience interaction increases every year we do this thing so much to the point that last year all of us panelists ended up abandoning the RPGs we wanted to discuss so that we could field the non-stop questions by the audience. Just remember, as long as it isn't an FF title or a PC title, we'll discuss it!

This sounds intriguingly fun. Perhaps I will attend this panel and soak in the RPG ambiance. Rise of the action RPG (Mass Effect, Dead Island, etc)!

You should definitely attend, especially considering how much we'll hopefully be discussing regarding the new wave of action RPG titles!

I'm always waiting for the next sweet RPG to come out. During the PS2 days, there were so many to choose from. Nowadays maybe a handful come out each year. It's funny seeing the "Best games of the year" lists that gaming websites have. There are so many nominees for FPS and action games and then there's the RPG category: the five RPGs that came out that year are the five nominees selected. Hmmm....

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! It's looking like the maximum amount of seats available for the panel are 400 so please make sure you get in line early if you're planning on coming out to this panel. RPGs, prizes, RPG prizes, and lots of discussion to be had. Plus, we have a couple big announcements coming Saturday night. Be there!

Also, a quick reminder since this is the second year ACen has forgotten to mention this (at least in the schedule PDF), our panel is ages 18+ due to language and some graphic content. Sorry for any confusion!

Yeah it's pretty crazy how that programming schedule worked out! I see you're a panelist on the FF MMORPG panel? Please encourage your audience to stick around for our panel. I promise we aren't there to troll the FF franchise, we're just shining a light on all the other stuff. :)

See you this weekend!
