I was wondering if anyone was going to cosplay from any Quinrose games.
Those include the Heart no Kuni no Alice series, Crimson Empire, Okashi no Shima no Peter Pan, Mother Goose no Himitsu no Yakata, etc.
It would be awesome if we could get a little meetup together :]

I'm going to be Peter Pan from Okashi na Shima
If there's more people, let's get a meetup together and plan some times! I know there probably won't be many so just a small gathering will do in the lobby or somewhere.

Time - Friday at 6pm
Area - Garden

I'm planning on going as Peter White from the Heart no Kuni no Alice series. A Quinrose meetup would be so much fun! I'd love to go. Have you thought about what day it might be?

Well since I'm running other photoshoots on Saturday, I'd like it to be on Friday. :] but if that's inconvenient then Saturday is fine too. Is there any time in particular you'd like??

I've also settled on Peter Pan~ /goes to make the outfit/ I hope we can reel in more characters!

Friday would work fine for me. I'm not sure what time I'll be arriving at ACen that day (I have to travel all the way from Indiana), so some time in the early evening would probably be best, maybe some time between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.? I hope we can find a lot more characters too!

Sure!! Early evening sounds good to me. Though after 5pm since I have another photoshoot I'm running then :] How about 6pm?

I hope so as well! I was surprised to see some Quinrose characters last year and the year before that. I hope that now that the Alice manga is more popular here, there will be more people!

I really hope the Alice manga will help bring in more people too. It'd be so nice to see a lot of characters!

There were Quinrose characters at ACen these past two years??!!! I don't know how, but I completely missed seeing them! I feel so cheated! *cries* What characters did you see?

I don't remember too well but there was a Pierce 2 years back as well as a Boris and Alice.

I'm going to submit a form for this group. Hopefully if people see it on the meetup schedule they'll show up :]

Aww...I would have loved to have seen Alice and Boris and Pierce. I can't believe I missed them!

Submitting a form for this group is a great idea! If we can get more publicity for this gathering, then there will be better chances of more people showing up. I was wondering if it might be a good idea to have the meetup schedule say something like Alice in the Country of Hearts/Quinrose. That way people who are more familiar with the Alice manga than they are with other Quinrose series will know that the Alice series is a part of this gathering.

Great! Hopefully that will help bring in more people. Do you think it might also help to post something in the "Seeking Cosplayers" section of the ACen forums and the "Heart no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of Hearts" thread? (More publicity can't hurt, right?)

By the way, how's your Peter Pan outfit coming along? I've been having a little trouble with Peter White's jacket (somehow I've managed to screw up the sleeves twice already!). *sigh* It's times like these that I really wish I was better at sewing.

I might bring Elliot March (HnKnA) if I have time for it. ^^; Actually, could I ask an opinion?

I finished my costume about a month ago using the manga as my primary reference (and the game for colors). In the manga, the tabs on Elliot's coat (the ones the buttons are on) only go part of the way down. I found a picture from the movie a few days ago and the tabs in the movie go all the way to the bottom. Should I add tabs the rest of the way down or stay accurate to the manga? Here's a pic of my costume if it helps, btw.

It's coming along well. Since I'm doing his child outfit it's a lot easier. The only problem is I can't get up the motivation to embroider the waist coat yet ;A; When I do I'll post some pictures!
When I was making a Peter cosplay a few years ago I messed up so many times. It's a lot harder than it looks urghhh. Good luck!! :DD

@Sailor Anime - I honestly think it looks great that way. Taking a quick look at some of the cgs from the game it seems like they only go a bit of the ways like in the manga. I'd just stick with that.

@Sailor Anime : That is such an amazing Elliot March! Please, please, please, please! You just have to bring it! Seriously, it looks so professional. And those ears look just incredible. How did you make them?



@Gabichox : Yes, it is a lot harder than it looks. In addition to screwing up the sleeves (one is now shorter and narrower than the other), I somehow misjudged my size when cutting out the pattern, and the jacket wound up being 2 or 3 sizes too large. I tried taking it in, but it is still slightly bulky in places. And I accidentally cut a hole in the lining when I was working on it this weekend. If the outfit turns out looking halfway decent, it will be a miracle. But I will keep trying!

And I can't wait to see those pictures! It is really difficult to get motivated sometimes. But I'm sure the waistcoat will look amazing once you've finished embroidering it.

@Tashigi: Thank you! ^w^ Whether I bring it or not will actually be based on whether or not my roommate finishes the costume he's working on (Beedrill gijinka). If he does, I'll be wearing a matching one. If not, it's Elliot time!

And for the ears, I took a sheet of screen door screen (got it at Home Depot), and put it between a layer of vinyl and fur. Then I wrapped the fur around the edge and hand stitched it down. I'm planning on making a tutorial using this method for car ears, so I can post it here when I'm done. ^^

Yeah, the vinyl is pretty cheap. It's a flannel-backed vinyl (about $6.99/yard at Hancock Fabrics) and you'd only need about a quarter of a yard. It's pretty lightweight ad durable. ^^

That's good to know. So after you sewed the ears together, I'm guessing you put them on a headband or something. Is there any particular way to attach them so that they don't fall off or start to droop?

I actually just stitched the ears into the wig, since I won't be able to use it for anyone but Elliot lol But a headband should work too. Maybe if you add some comb-style clips to it, it'll keep it from slipping?

lol. Sorry. I don't know why, but I just kind of assumed you had used a headband. Comb-style clips would probably be a good idea, though. I've never tried sewing anything to a wig before. Is it very difficult?

Haha, nah it's cool. And I don't find it too difficult to sew things into wigs, but you do have to be patient with it.
