Hey, is there anybody here who is interested (or even just curious) about roller derby, whether it's just watching roller derby or actually participating? I just posted a thread in the chit-chat section about some derby events taking place next weekend for the league that I skate in out in the western suburbs...but I'm thinking that this section might have been a more appropriate place to put it. I don't know. Aacck!

The thread mentions 2 events: A food-drive and Fundraiser open skate night, and then a recruitment night for anyone who might be interested in joining! Both are happening next weekend!

And would anyone here be interested at all in knowing what our bouting season will look like? (Bouts = games in derby-lingo, btw). If so, I'd be happy to update in the forum so everybody would know when you can come and watch us! We'd love to see everybody come by!

I have a friend that is in Roller Derby and she loves it. Over the summer, I had the fun of going to a derby bout and its a very interesting event. I highly recommend to anyone going to one because it really can be fun. I usually hate sporting events (i am a bit of a hikimori) but even I love going to one. If my friend and I lived closer, we would definitely hit this up

Yeah! We'll actually be kicking off our 2012 season soon, too! We have our first home bout scheduled for January 7th if anyone would like to come and watch!
