Acen and finals! Who else is going to have a problem with the earlier dates?

Well the last few years, being in May Acen hasn't interfered with my finals... They always finished BEFORE Acen so it wasn't a problem. Unfortunately this year since it's in April, my finals will be RIGHT AFTER the con on May 1-3... I have no idea what I'm going to do except maybe cram Sunday and Monday.

So I am curious who else has this problem this(coming) year?

Start studying a week or two before your finals.

Drop all studying for Acen. Go and enjoy yourself. Relax.

Review just a little before the exam.

Should be just fine. The study and then relax method works best for me. I hope it works best for you.

try to study before the con and as Jeff previously stated, have a quick review before finals.

My finals aren't until may, but my ACT test is in April so i'll be preparing like crazy. I'm just praying that they don't take place on the friday of ACen. I don't want to miss any of the con.

This is the first time AcEN doesn't interfere with finals or graduation for my school.

I let acen in '08 on sunday for highschool graduation xD. and acen has always been around May 18th or a week before so i spent the last 4 years celebrating my birthday at acen...not this year apparently Y ACEN Y!!!! lol.

Good luck studying yea my finals will be sometime that week after acen.

Idea: Try asking your professors if you can take your finals earlier because you have a conference your attending. I did that one year :D.

Finals don't conflict for me this year. Two years ago I skipped a final on Friday to go to Acen. Well worth it :D

I work and my job happens to be 5 minutes from Acen. Oh yeah! :D

My finals start on May 17th so yeah, I don't have to worry about them this year. It's a huge relief actually, but I've never had a problem studying and dealing with ACen before. If you pace yourself properly and don't cram it all in at the last minute, you should be fine.

Acen has been like this for all the years i've gone.

2005: prom
2006: prom
2007: finals
2008: week before finals
2009: finals
2010: graduation
2011: freedom!!
2012: boots out any thought of C2E2

Needless to say I missed 2010 and skipped prom in 05 and 06. I'm telling you, the gods of Acen kept testing my resolve. I was like, I'm going dangit and no test is gonna stop me! I just had my teacher let me take exams early so I could skip out sooner for the convention (one of them was for Japanese class so he was quite understanding :thumbup: )

Then again, i'm old and feeble minded, perhaps the dates of 08 and 09 are switched...

I also skipped prom before. In 2008, I skipped my senior prom to go to my first Acen instead. I haven't missed an Acen since ^-^

Only one final is a problem. It was actually set up on the 28th, yeah a Saturday, wierd. I did ask the professor and she said I could set up another time to take the final. My other two classes don't have finals. Atleast, one has a test on the last regular day of class and nothing during finals week. The other is a project instead of a test as it's an art class.

In 2007, my very 1st Acen, I had a final to study for on a Friday night, then left early Saturday morning to take it.

Haha, I did the same in 2010! XD I had more fun at ACEN than I did prom, and I acutally SAVED money by going to ACEN and I thought it was much more worth it. But ACEN is the weekend before my finals too. It's been after finals and worked great. But this year I have a nursing final bright and early on Monday so I'm just compensating just by going one day. I'm studying ahead of time for sure, relaxing Saturday and then studying more/reviewing if anything on Sunday then kicking my finals' booty on Monday. I'm not that sad since it'll be in May again next year. ^_^ Because if I went the whole weekend with all the stuff going on during ACEN and basically almost pulling three all nighters (four if I went Thursday) like I usually do from all the fun stuff that happens at night I AM SO DEAD that week after. I can guarantee if I went the whole weekend I would not do well on anything. XD!

I would plan what days I took what classes to make sure none would fall during ACen :P
