I'm not a noob to gatherings but I'm a noob to ACen. This will be my first year attending after three years of struggling to find a way to attend, but it's better late than never. I'm a college student, first year, and I live in the Chicago area so getting a hotel is more price than needed. I'm from DePaul University, in our clubs JMAC, and I'm a middle-level anime/manga lover. I came down from my high-of-an-otaku phase early this year after a winter break filled of rewatching the Digimon series (I have no life, lol). I'm want to make some friends before Acen because even though our JMAC club is pretty cool and large, I still haven't made many friends in college aside from my roommates. =/

Lol, seems more like an introduction than a gathering. Where you hoping to create a specific gathering for ACen? Lots of gathering form up during ACen just as long as you keep track of them in the forums and attend you should all be able to make a few friends. =D
