Just out of curiosity, what are you looking for in the audition mix? Are you looking more at music or at skill? Just wondering what I should be worried about when sending stuff your way,

well music is somewhat part the audition, basically i'm willing to hear anything you have to spin as long as it fits into the Soapbubble. The most important thing is skill.

once i have everything set up i'll be asking people for audition mixes, after that the ones that i have chosen from those mixes will have to spin live for a panel of 4 or 5 judges consisting of myself and 4 of the resident DJ's of the Soapbubble. From there we will choose 1 person to spin at next years Soapbubble.

So everyone bring your A game. if you really wanna impress me do a live mix video and put it on youtube showing me how you actually spin.

In regards to spinning live in front of a panel, I just have a quick question. If I have a gig coming up, and assuming the members of the panel can make it, would it be possible for that gig to count as the live panel round?

I'm a DJ sponsored by Scenic Clothing and one of the Resident DJs of Wausaubi Con. I've got a gig coming up on Saturday. I'll record the set while spinning. And post any other mixes I do besides to show how I play differing genres. That said, here's a 15 minute hardcore mix that I made just last night that people seem to be going nuts over if I do say so myself. http://soundcloud.com/dj-bs/hit-me If possible, provided I do get picked which I'm not gonna lie, I'm really hoping for. Is a co-op performance allowed? Was hoping I could bring on my counterpart DJ with me.

I'm kinda starting to feel uneasy seeing as how spontaneous this entire event is turning out due to we don't have a time or location to meet up at for this audition and I still need to let my ride know the details which I'll be lucky if they don't tare me a new sphinx-tar for timeliness.

The live audition or whatever they have planned is the "final round" so to speak. From what I have perceived, he'll post the rules later today, we make a mix, submit it to this forum, and then they're going to judge those. The best ones will get a live audition.
