Ok normally I am a person who is only afraid of the things involved in her phobias. Haunted houses, heights, and bugs (especially snakes and stuff,) don't scare me. Not even roaches and spiders.

But....I was really creeped out and scared to the point that I couldn't sleep yesterday.

Two songs actually, Kagome, Kagome and Song for Satan, both Vocaloid videos. Especially the former
Spoiler
This is from a person who used to play her cousin's Resident Evil 2 in the dark!

Is there anything that the forums was afraid of or scared (from either watching, playing video game wise, etc.) to the point that you were creeped out for a while, (outside of your phobias! Because you can't do anything about them!)

Hahaha me too! My best friend and I still reference that moment when we first were playing the game and that infernal dog leaped through the window.

I can't see anything that has that certain evil doll, can't even spell it for the fear of it, or I get paranoid that doll is in my house and I still think that the light will some how keep it away from me so until I get over the fact that it's not real and that I'm over reacting the fear it's self won't leave me. :shuriken:

The Human Centipede. It was a movie that's online and I think it was on the IFC channel too. But it really creeped me out...and it wasn't even what I thought it was. I think centipedes are like the coolest bugs ever with spiders and I thought it would be about some random dude who gets a power to turn into or control centipedes. WRONG. Long creepy story short a bunch of people who are (trying choose my words well for this) create a giant human centipede with them all attached together. But it was creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy and kinda gross... O_________o I didn't see my centi-friends the same for awhile. O.o

That was one nasty movie! LOL. I caught it On-Demand and remember people talking about it prior as well as seeing a trailer. I like movies like House of 1000 Corpses, Devil's Rejects, Saw, Hostel, etc. This one was way too gross though. I did like the South Park parody of it though "Human Cent-iPad." :D

Besides that, the grossest movies I have ever seen are "Pink Flamingos" and "I Spit on Your Grave." The latter one was just nasty because it felt too real to me. Pink Flamingos is a John Waters movie and if you have seen any of his early movies, you know he is very out there. Again, it was a bunch of gross out scenes, I mean it made Human Centipede IMO look like an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark. I don't recommend seeing either of those two movies personally.

One game that I didn't think was overly scary but was very cool in how it messed with you is Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube. Honestly, the sanity meter was one of the most awesome things ever in a video game! It messed with your mind during the game by either making it seem like your TV is randomly muting the game, your character randomly starts decomposing, and a bunch of other random stuff that might mess you up during the game and let the monsters attack you. Amazing game! No video game moment will ever top the dog in Resident Evil 1 though!

I know you mentioned no phobias, but I can remember what started my fear of fire, so since I wasn't afraid of it at the time, it counts, right? It was a video about fire safety that I saw when I was 5. It was a cartoon. ...about Donald Duck... ...I was 5, ok? lol My friends love ragging on me about this one.

Other movies that gave me nightmares as a kid were Beauty and the Beast (the wolf chase), Neverending Story (...again, the wolf), and Jumanji (I clung to my mom the whole movie... ...I was older than I care to admit :P). Nothing really recent though, outside of phobias, anyway.

This one is pretty lame and weird but...
Every year, at Christmas, me and my dad watch the animated version of "how the Grinch stole Christmas" (it's more tradition than necessity)...and every year...every single year...the movie gives me nightmares (and I'm not a little kid, either...) I have no idea why, but I can't watch it without cringing....

I figured the Jim Carey one would be more likely to give you nightmares.

1. Jim Carey was pretty scary looking as The Grinch
2. They actually made a live action Grinch movie, is this a reality?!?! :)

I'm still freaked out by slender man. :/ Dolls, too, which is tragic because I think they're gorgeous, but I can't be left alone with one because I hallucinate.
I'm also afraid of being afraid. I know that sound weird, but, for example, I had a nightmare earlier. I don't remember what it was about, all I know is that it scared me and that alone made me even more afraid. ><;;

Guessing the first one is based on Fahrenheit (the one with the firefighters not the book one,) and the second one is WWII Germany?

I didn't read the comments, so I'm only guessing =3=; I rememeber a movie that was based on actual events with firefigthers with a similar theme.

@Faithful Jello: My dad had the King book of IT plus the movie. I was scared of clowns for a long time (but not circus clowns funny enough, just that one clown)

First one not even close. What you got there is a song about the North Hollywood shootout in '97, and song 2 was about Doctor Josef Mengele.

A good chunk of my greatest dislikes growing up stemmed from watching scary movies as a child. Apparently my parents thought I'd learn a lesson from watching them or something. Yeah...I turned out to be Pathetic as a result.

So, here are the movies that caused those creepouts, and what they were. Mind you, I've more or less grown out of all of these, with just a strong dislike for a select few now.

1) Poltergeist: Thunderstorms, open closets at night. It wasn't until I was in high school when I finally got over these completely. No matter where I was, if the bedroom I was in had a closet, it had to be firmly shut. Thunderstorms - especially when there were trees outside the bedroom window - were godawful. I didn't get over storms until I started my first job working at Great America (in the Camp Cartoon Network section), when a nice storm hit and I had prolly the least amount of "shelter." I could prolly watch Poltergeist all the way through now...except I'm pretty sure I'll still cover my eyes during the special bathroom scene.

2) The Gate: Sleeping with my hands exposed. This movie is horrible, but it had me absolutely terrified that one night, the big bad demon would crash in through the floor and stick an eye on one or both of my hands. I didn't get past this until I was in my teens.

3) Arachnophobia: Speaks for itself. I couldn't stand spiders for YEARS after this. Nowadays, I'm tolerant of them...but only if they're well outside of my smacking range, and as long as they don't sneak up on me. I daresay this movie was responsible for me hating any insect with 8 or more legs, too - I still hate centipedes and millipedes with a fiery passion.

4) Dolls: Porcelain and clown dolls. Another bad movie, but still left a strong impression. I still don't care for porcelain dolls, and I definitely don't like clown dolls. (You'd think Poltergeist would have been the source of the latter, but I never got that far in the movie until several years ago.)

5) Saw III: The Rack scene. I saw this movie when it came out. By this time, it usually took a lot to scare me/gross me out with movies. This scene, though, had me clutching my big soda cup like a stuffed animal, and I didn't ease my grasp until we got home much later. Yeah.

6) Silent Hill (games and movie): Tornado sirens. I'd be appropriately spooked by these even before seeing SH in any of its incarnations. But after watching them, I can't hear the sirens the same way. It's even worse when (as happened last year) a storm cell caused all four of my town's sirens to go off at the same time. And wouldn't you know it, my apartment is almost right in the middle of the area, so there's no way I'm not hearing that. B(

Beyond Belief:Fact or Fiction is the cause of my number 1 childhood trauma.
Closet Monster
I still have a fear of closets... You couldn't pay me to stand in one. The kid disappeared and it was a true freaking story! True!

I am also terrified of Doctors in horror movies... Now, I love horror movies a lot but I just cannot handle medical themed horror in any way shape or form. I cried after watching 10 minutes of Anatomy, I stayed awake for 3 days after watching the House on Haunted Hill remake (awful doctor ghosts), I wont touch Doctor Giggles with a ten foot pole, Human Centipede bothered me more than it should have... I just can't deal with medical horror movies!
It won't do any good to delude myself, because even if the distance between us is less than a touch, it is my destiny that I will never have what I long for.

Hmm, no mention of Kyubei? (see http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/kyubey for more, but beware of Madoka Magica spoilers)

Also, if you're unnerved by horror, then you may not enjoy Corpse Party. It's an indie horror visual novel that's had several remakes, and the PSP version will be released in English on the Playstation Store later this year.

There would be no way I could have figured out the first one. Second one I was close because I heard Germany something (well you know the word.)

dorkatlarge: Madoka doesn't creep me out because the fans can't make up their minds to be moe or nightmare fuel station attendents. So the thing is a cat compared to...Mamoru from PA that creeps me out to this day. I think threads of Madoka desensitized me, like Iroha.

Oh I know a VN worse than Corpse Party. I refuse to play it because it sounds really gross with horror. I might try CP though.

Valkyrie: I can't watch Saw because of my phobia, not because of fear. It's so lame.

That caught me COMPLETELY off guard! *shiver*

What really creeps me out is hearing backwards messages in music. Even though I know 99% of the time the messages aren't really there. Having the message planted in my head and just the way music sounds when played backwards sends shivers down my spine.
Let's get our feet out of the dust!

I'm a really big fan of Jim Carey, and I loved his portrayal of the Grinch. In truth, almost any type of Dr. Seuss art or animation gives me the willies. Don't even get me started Green Eggs and Ham or the One Fish Two Fish thing.....
It's almost to the point that, if I go into a toy store and find either Dr. Seuss books or Dr. Seuss character plushies...I have to get out as fast as I can. So long as I don't see them, I'm okay.
