[GITS SAC Motoko]

I thought this would be fun since I've seen a lot of pictures of people's parents, brothers, sister/etc cosplaying together. Anyone else here trying to get/persaude a relative to cosplay with them or have a relative cosplaying/have cosplayed with them? It doesn't have to be just for ACEN, lol. But if you have it would be cool to hear about it (and how you persauded them if you did ) and maybe some pictures?

I've been trying to get my mom to cosplay with me. I thought it'd be so cool. But she doesn't want to. XD I think there was a time she thought about it because she wanted to go to a con with me (because I just got out of the hospital at the time and in the hospital she told me she'd try so I could go) but then it turned out I couldn't really walk well, lol. And again she doesn't want to. I'd love if she cosplayed Prime Minister Kayabuki from Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG with me, or one of the brown haired incarnations of Motoko Kusanagi from the manga Human Error Processor. She could totally pull it off. But she won't. XDDD

No really back when I used to read LSH comic books during the reboot when I was like 10-14. She even thought about going to an anime con so she could play SFA3

Now she just lays around and gambles =_=;;;;

I wish I had a sibling to cosplay with....especially Megaten.

For Hallowe'en, the kids I babysit (not real family, but they're like family... they call my cousin and stuff...) and I are going to do Vocaloids. Their parents may or may not join us. It was the kids' idea!

My mom has helped me with cosplays too...but just a little. She usually likes to' comment how I look haha. Shes given me advice about swing and stuff hehe.

For next year's Acen, my brother and I (and a friend of mine) are going as the main characters from Sket Dance. I'll be Bossun and my brother will be Switch

My sis and I always cosplay together! But there was one time when I got my mom to wear one of my costumes while passing out candy at Halloween, mascot style head and all. She had fun with it, and the kids loved it, too.

I persuaded my cousin to cosplay Hinata with me.

I was being me, just watching anime, when my cousin walks through my bedroom door and watched what I do on my laptop. I thought I'd show her some YouTube videos of Acen 2011 to see how much fun it is, and the Pocky dude since she LOVES Pocky. Then she said she thought it was fun so I said she should go in cosplay since almost everybody does and she'd look like a loser. XD Then I said since I'm planning on Sakura, she should go as a Naruto character too. I showed her some pictures of some characters I'd thought she'd like and she really liked TenTen, then I showed her Hinata and that she should go as Hinata since she's shy-ish at things like these. She was unsure about it then I said "Come on! We could fight over a Naruto! Pull on his arms and swear at each other in Japanese!" Then she agreed.

And that is how you get a teenage girl to cosplay. ^^

Aww that's so cool! I love the "we can fight over Naruto!" I bet you guys will have lots of fun doing that. Plus Hinata is such a cool character. She's so shy and chill, and then she's like PEIN YOU'RE GOING DOWN! BECAUSE I LOVE NARUTO! And it's just awesome.

@ Motoko ,I know, immediately after I mentioned fighting over Naru-chan, so agreed. I think she still wants to be TenTen, but I think she'd have more fun being Hinata since she'll be kinda shy at a con she's never been, and since she's not into anime (I think she would have fun anyway with our wacky family) she'll at least know and remember who Naruto is and what he looks like. I don't think she'll remember Kiba or Neji since she forgets things a lot.

Thankfully nobody in my family cosplays- my parents have a terrible definition of humor and "having fun" and would only serve to embarrass me. My cousins who I'm closest with don't like anime and if they ever did cosplay, I'd feel really uncomfortable if I had to cosplay with them...

I'm the nerd of the family, lol. My brother is more willing to do costumes but he would never dream of going to an Anime or Comic convention! Best way I put it: I'm Cartoon Network, he's MTV (the mainstream Jersey Shore, Teen Mom stuff, not Beavis and Butthead.) So I'm on my own in terms of close family. I have friends that I'm talking to about doing a group costume but that's it.

If I were dating someone, I'd be very willing to do a couple costume! Now if I get married and have a family, for some reason I think my kids are going to dislike doing costumes and be more into camping or playing sports. I would definitely encourage their hobbies and join them in with what they want, but I would heavily encourage them to dress up at Wizard World or ACen with me as a family, lol.

This. The problem is that I don't know any guy that would put up with me. I'm the type to do yaoi/yuri pairings and kiss face in the hotel room.

Despite the name, I do like the straight pairings. Like N/Touko.

The most I did was Gai/Kakashi from Naruto with my ex.

The Naruto part from Chica made me laugh. Too bad I'm doing Megaten and Drrr this year.

Meiko scares me than Meito (Because of the Seven Sin series and My brother PV where she LITERALLY kills Kaito for lols.) At least Meito doesn't abuse Kaiko.

Yeah I would love to do that one day too...my problem is finding someone that would put up with it, and finding someone to have a family with that would want to do that.

My sister and I got my father into Cosplay. Our first year we did a small group of Saiyuki. We're trying to come as the first doctor (me), Susan Forman (My sister), and the master (my dad) for one year. I'm trying to convince my sister to be the phantasm from Batman so that we can go as a trio of batman villians: Nurse Joker (My dad), Riddler (myself).

That is awesome!!! That would be and is so cool. I really want to get my parents to cosplay...my dad is more wanting to than my mom. XDDD

The year I went to Acen as Pachirisu from Pokemon, my mom went as Blissey xD Everyone was calling her Chansey, but close enough xD She was really excited to "fit in" and have people take her picture.

And my aunt and uncle and all their kids cosplay xD He makes all their outfits and they always like great!

EDIT: On the couple cosplay note, so excited to go to Acen with my bf next year! I plan on wearing my Vepiquen cosplay again and making him a Beedrill to match for Friday. I also have planned for us to be Plue and Happy (Rave Master/Fairy Tail) and possibly Arcanine and Ninetails if I've got the time.

Well, my mom has always tried to at least know what her kids were into. And for a little, she was just going to cons as transport. But one year I talked her into it. She enjoyed it and has been doing it ever since. It's just difficult to find cosplay that is age approperate or that she likes.

My 7 year old brother loves to cosplay and adores the idea of it...he even is willing to crossplay xD but I wont haunt him with that, although he always wants to do older characters like Ellis from L4D2 and...girls like Kaai Yuki xD

In my case it was because I was so young xD I was 15 for my first Acen, and my mom came along to supervise me. She thought it was so cool that everyone dressed up, and decided the next year she'd join in xD (She's always been huge on Halloween, so she was excited to wear a costume during a different time of the year) She had a blast ^^ Tell your mom an anime convention is like a giant Halloween party, only the costumes tend to be from anime/manga instead of typical costumes like pirates or whatever
