So, I am going to be Eridan Ampora from Homestuck, and I want to bring a laser (I wouldn't call it a gun, honestly) with me as a prop for the photoshoot. (I don't plan to carry it inside the actual convention center at this point.)

Unfortunately, Herp Derp, i don't know how to post links to a picture of the laser, but I can give a description, and possibly post a link later.

The prop looks very obviously fake. The "barrel" is not open, and has a large Diamond-jewel shape on the end (like a spear or harpoon). The entire prop is bright blue with aqua accents, and has a black scope mounted onto the top.

Anyway, to get right to the point...if the prop looks obviously fake enough, are we still required to put an orange tip onto it, or would it be acceptable as is?

I will try to figure out this link thing as soon as I can, and will post a picture if needed.

For orange tips: all gun props need this, no matter how obviously fake. It doesn't have to take up the whole spear point, but it should be noticeable. (You could even be creative and fun and stick an honest-to-god orange on it.)

I vaguely remember a mention or I saw this actually (an orange on the tip)
