So I plan this every year. sometimes it's big and sometimes it's small.

Anderson gardens is an amazing Japanese garden, which is great for taking photos in cosplay. Normally i prefer people do street cosplay only, but to each their own this year.

The gardens itself is simply amazing, and great for those of you who like to take pics.

Some major highlights are the waterfalls, beautiful ponds, and a tea house.

The price of adults is $7, students up to college are $5, and kids under 4 are free.

After we can either go out to eat, hit the mall till 6, or hangout some place.

Items to bring:
Bug spray, camera (clearly), some extra money if you want to get koi fish food, stuff from the store their, or eat after.

Photographers:
DSLRs are okay, but no tripods/light stands. See their site for details.

Just to let you guys know, I was there last week and they don't have a restaurant anymore, and also a lot of the paths are closed year.

We never went to the (expensive) restaurant, so that's not a problem. I'm curious about closed paths though. Maybe it was just temporary?

OMG I'm glad I saw this! I dunno that I can go, but will definately try! Especially since I live in Rockford!
To my dismay, I have never been to Anderson Gardens. :/ Do I just go into the building and pay and then go into the garden or how does that work?

I'm hopin to get a get-together going sometime in the fall at the latest for a cosplay day over at Sinnissippi Park.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Yeah, there is a main building to go into with a register, just ask for a pass to the garden. If you are a student you can get a cheaper rate. I'll have a white cubs hat and black shirt on today. Usually we all gather in the main building until a while after noon to make sure that everyone is together.



A cosplay event at Sinnissippi sounds good.

Well, sadly since I can't come along today, I think I may try to get a Sinnissippi meet up started soon enough for a few weeks down the road. Will keep everyone updated and hope you guys have fun!

Indeed. Although we need to somehow make the events so interesting that people will put forth the effort to actually come to them.
