Maybe they sectioned off a block of the hotel for the party rooms for this year? I'm only guessing because they said they wanted to do it with the recent ACen, but they couldn't do it in time when all the room blocks got filled. But I only remembered reading about that they might do it next year for 2012.
I was in the parking lot from the false fire alarm in '12.
I overcame the ACen rapture in '11.
I survived the ACen fire in '10.
I dodged the H1N1 outbreak in '09.
I was denied ice cream at the ACen 10th Anniversary ice cream social in '07.

Hey Rukariou, what does the Embassy usually run in comparison to the Hyatt?? I think I'd rather be there than the Hyatt this year, but find myself in a catch-22 of being antsy about waiting for their rates and possibly missing my shot at a Hyatt room if they're unreasonable...

(personal opinion reply)

You can probably make reservations at whatever hotels you want and then cancel them later (up to the hotel specific cutoff date) probably without penalty. This of course can skew the room avaialbility lists at the hotels a bit so don't get carried away, or wait till the last minute to cancel a bunch of unwanted reservations. I suspect a fair number of people already do this which is why rooms can sometimes become avaiable at the last minute at previously "fully booked" hotels. My thoughts.

I'm not ma'am Ruka-san but this year:

Hyatt: Single-Quad $165.00
Regency Club Add $30.00 per night
Suite: 50% rack rate

Embassy:Single/Double king $155.00
Triple King: $165.00
Quad King: $175.00

Btw all Embassy rooms are two room at least. So singles have a pull out couch.

So it should be similar to that since the Hyatt is 190 with tax a night.

Double tree wasn't bad last year. It had a hot tub! That was a huge plus, and it was pretty quiet. I do like the closeness of the Hyatt though.
