I recently picked up Oblivion again and after screwing around with it (for about eight hours straight) and killing off small villages and joining the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild I remembered that I really love this game.

And can't wait for Skyrim.

I became infuriated with Oblivion when, after hours of leveling up, I found out enemies level up with you... then I got stuck in a painting with impossible enemies... then I got turned into a vampire which could only be cured after a ridiculous quest. After starting 3 new games, I threw in the towel. Skyrim trailer does look extremely sweet though. Hope it's not anything like my Oblivion experience.

i got 100 on sneak and run before i left the jail cell you start in. just keep sneaking an have something hold doen the foward key for you whilst you go do other things irl. and choose not to go to bed EVER when you play so you don't level up

I picked up the 5th year anniversary edition and I was reminded of why I loved that game. "Wait, there's female knights. Wait, what, the women actually do something in this game???" And the fact that they hired maybe 10 people to do all of the voice acting is kinda cute.

160 hours later, I couldn't find myself to finish the Shivering Isles expansion, as great as I heard it was.

I'll wait to see if Skyrim is good but I'm probably going to pick it up anyway, I got way hooked on Oblivion.

I hated that too, but that's why I used leveling mods. Of course you can't use those if you're playing the console version, so in that case you're kinda screwed.

I just hope they take out how the game knows if you've killed a solider outside of a city. One took a backswing from me when he tried to help take down a troll with me so he starting attacked me. After I killed him (out in the middle of nowhere) I go back to a city and they try and arrest me for killing him. How the hell would they have known? Stupid.

I also wished there was some sort of co-op (like borderlands). But I already know there isn't.

There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between 4 and 5, so I'll wait til the game goes down to like 30 proabably.

i like just wandering around randomly and off in the distance, you see a guard running somewhere, he'll slide around objects as he does so, and eventually if you follow him, he'll eventually turn around and noticing that you're there; challenge you as a thief or a criminal even though you haven't done anything "evil" the entire game.

Everything I hated in Oblivion is non-existent in Skyrim and that's a huge plus. I have ~11 hours played, maybe 2 main quests completed, and am at level 18. Skyrim is going to be played forever.

Game crashed during a dragon battle. All my rage.

Also getting some lousy frame rates during battles which hurts.

But still, a solid game I can't put down.

...Except now so I can go rage to the world.

FYI pickpocketing people and the "muffle" illusion spell are a couple really easy ways to level up. My character is not even close to being a mage nor do I plan on using a lot of magic but all I have to do is cast muffle a couple times and BAM... gain levels like crazy. Steal a couple expensive items and you get the same result. My pickpocket level is ~87!

^ Don't worry about not having a life because of Skyrim. I have less hours but am ~level 43, two skills maxed out (pickpocket & illusion), and many dragons slayed. This is somehow way more addicting than Fallout.

Hit level 56, thieving around the world...

Still having some issues with Elder Dragons, especially when they and Frost Trolls ambush me in the mountains.

This game seems to really reward heavy armor wearers. I didn't have nearly a hard time with my Nord warrior as i am having with my Khajiit thief.

I love light armor, so much less noisier to run around with, and that's invaluable to the Thieves Guild quests... well, unless you're a muck up like me who ends up having to bash and burn at once due to being caught.

I'm finally going to help the Stormcloaks take over the land, but this lag on PS3 is pretty terrible. I have to stop and exit to the dashboard every so often due to issues. Sucks that there's not going to be a patch until after the Thanksgiving holiday. Otherwise this game would be flawless. The bigger my file gets, the more issues I have.

I'm glad I didn't bother with light armor. Heavy armor isn't a problem for me because my sneak level is so high. My enchanted armor and accessories are stacked with +magicka and magicka regen so I'm basically a silent battle tank that can deal out ridiculous magic. Forget mage robes!

I'm not sure WHAT the level cap is, I've yet to hit 60 though so we'll see.

I'm testing out Dual casting as a High Elf character and I gotta say, if you work at it and boost your magika high and those skills high then dual casting is a beast that stops most enemies fairly easy. It runs into problems with Dragons and Undead Bosses of mass "Screw you" levels but I find having a companion usually means the baddy will focus on them while I lay heavy on the damage with magic.

Wouldn't need a companion if the conjuring magic just worked properly most of the time.

And yeah, I'm aiming to make the mage a Spell Weave Tank. High Def with Crazy Offensive Magic.
