Registration Department Head Changes for ACen 2012

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to let you know about the Department Head change in Registration for the upcoming 15th Anniversary year of ACen. After long consideration, Chelsea has decided to retire from the Reg-DH position and move on to a shiny-different DH position for the 2011-2012 convention. She is very excited with what she will be doing this coming year!

As of June 28th, I became the new Department Head. I have been with ACen since 2008-2009. I applied for the department just after ‘line con’ in 2008. Funny story there – ACen 2008 was my first date with my now-husband; we just got married a couple weeks ago. At ACen that year, we had stood in line for three hours on Saturday afternoon; me with a 101.9 fever and drugged up on cold meds, him looking oh-so-concerned that I was going to faint. *laughs* About halfway through the line, I decided that I was going to try to find out how to volunteer … and so here we are today.

After my first convention as a general staffer, Chelsea promoted me to an Assistant Department Head; which is what I had been doing since then. For the past twelve months, Chelsea has been training me to take over as Department Head and has taught me a lot of very valuable things about our department. Needless to say, I am super-excited about this upcoming ACen!!! I don’t think I have slept a solid-night’s sleep since being promoted; I have ideas rolling through my brain.

We have not yet announced the tier dates and rates for ACen 2012; however, I hope to be able to shortly. I am currently waiting on verification that our registration system is set to go.
