I've doing that actually! I was thinking, "if I can't go to the gym, I'll just watch what I eat so it'll help somewhat." I've cut out fast food so much. My mom used to buy it for me almost every other day, but i said to make it once a week, twice tops. I also don't drink much soda and when I'm a bit hungry between meals, I eat a healthier small something like cheese and crackers or pretzel bread. It's been working, but I just wish I could pump some iron a bit and feel the burn.

I know what you mean about working out. I'm feeling great but I can't work out until I go for my first post op appointment. So I just walk everyday. As fast as I can manage and as far as I can.

I think my problem is I hate doing things alone, and there's NO kids my age in my neighborhood except my neighbor Jess buts she's always on vacation. All the other kids are basically toddlers or older teenagers, and I mean like 19.

I know how you feel. Having someone to work out with makes it feel like your not the only one doing it. Like someone else is there for you as well. When I finally get to start swimming, I'll have to do it alone but it's ok because I know alot of people are supporting me even if they're not there.

But not many people know I'm doing it, I was hopefully gonna surprise a bunch of people but that didn't work out too well....yet.

That's perfect motivation to surprise all of those people that don't know about it. Think about what it would feel like to be at that point. With or without anyone, it can be done. Stick with it everyone!

Oh I definitely will. I was always teased for being a bit chubbier when I was younger, and I remember I'd gain 20 pounds a year in elementary school. I'm tired of being like that. I don't gain weight like that now, but the fact I did haunts me. I remember weighing 164 when I was in fourth grade, and 180 to 200 in fifth grade! I even did dance class! Yet I still gained so much and I'm sick of it!

I totally agree man. It is hard but it is completely possible. I love using the motivation that people haven't seen me in a while and then they see me and they'll be like WHOA! I did that last year and my mom freaked of how skinner I got.

That's why we have this thread--it's to help motivate everyone to keep going. You will reach your goal, and what's great is that your are young and you want to be healthy. If everyone your age thought this way...just don't give up and do what you can. You can only do so much of what you have. And if you use what you have, you will still get results. :D

I just really want to prove that even though I am bigger, I can change my ways. So many people think I suck at sports because of my size, but I'm actually good at sports (sometimes).

I also have a friend who is built like me, when she was in gym class and had to do laps around the gym, she'd pass people up in track because she played soccer for so many years! I also made the swim team when I was younger without ANY practice ahead of time and skipped a whole level my first year!

But aside from that, I just want to be healthy and have great confidence like everyone should! :)

Those are some great reasons for wanting to get fit. Don't lose your convictions and if you ever feel you are. Say something on the thread and motivation will pour in

I don't think size should really matter as long as you are healthy. There are a lot of people out there at are a little bigger but in a lot better health wise then someone who is in a normal or lower weight.

Now that you mention that, I'm glad you did. So many girls (including some of my closest friends) think they're fat because of their weight. If you're healthy it shouldn't matter! It really bugs me when people are considered obese just because of that number of the scale. Wrestlers and football players can weigh of to 300 pounds, but it's all muscle, yet some people consider them obese. That's a completely different story from someone who weighs 300 pounds and they're actually unfit and can barely get out of bed. And you also have to consider height too. If I weighed around 90-100 pounds like I "should" for my age or whatever, I'd look anorexic because I'm 5'6''. I can't even described how much that annoys me.

Yeah I agree--and a lot it depends on your waist size too. Usually when people have bigger waist's they have a higher risk of obesity related illness because the fat on their waist puts pressure and stress on their internal organs. That's why people that have the "pear shape" way of distributing fat (it going to your legs) have a slight lower risk of heart disease/etc from being overweight or obese. But if you're unlucky like your friend Motoko here you're the "apple shape" where you gain weight in your stomach, increasing your waist size giving you higher risk of heart disease. O__O Yeah my friend is like idk 210 pounds, but he's all muscle. He used to be a bodybuilder. I'd watch him bicep curl 100 lb dumbells and I'd feel so lame with my twenty. XDDD

I know what you mean by that. I recently checked and it said that I should weight between 129-135 and I'm 5'9" almost 5'10" I don't see how being at the weight could be healthy for me. I think I would be scared of blowing away in a wind storm.

So in order to get extremely jacked and ripped, I've split my routine to a 5th day. I'm feeling extra good about this. WOOOOOOOO!

I'm a pear-shaped. My waist matches with my upper body, then once it gets to my hips, I'm so much wider, which gives me my curves. Then I have big thighs, so it makes me look curvier. I'm not saying I'm not happy with curves, I just don't want THOSE curves, trying to even it out more, y'know?

Yeah I totally understand what you mean. I'm in the same boat with my apple shape :P It's that I have definition in my arms, legs and upper body, but my stomach has a little too much definition, if you know what I mean! XD

:3 But don't they say "if you can't breathe you can't live?" hehehehehhehehehe ;3 haha

Yeah I totally understand what you mean. I'm in the same boat with my apple shape :P It's that I have definition in my arms, legs and upper body, but my stomach has a little too much definition, if you know what I mean! XD

I do! My butt is super wide! And my thighs are the same! IT makes me look super-duper curvy! That's why I'm aiming at my thighs and glutes first. Then I'll aim at my stomach and then my upper arms.

I've heard that aiming at one spot to tone doesn't work, do you know if this is true? My mom does Zumba and says she looses weight in odd places like her fingers. She said her ring is zero now!

I have to start doing lunges so I can get my butt to fill out. Also have to clean up my diet a little bit.

You can't tell me Michigan doesn't have a better burger joint than wendys?

Sadly I don't believe there is. Steak and Shake maybe? There are no Carls Jr's in the north so I'd say no, there are no good burger joints.
